Afghanistan's ratification of CEDAW in 2003 marked a crucial advancement for women's rights. However, following the Taliban's military takeover in August 2021, severe regression in women's rights has occurred. All UN member states and relevant organizations continue to voice profound concerns over systemic discrimination and egregious violations. As Afghanistan 🇦🇫 prepares its fourth periodic report for CEDAW, it presents an opportunity to elevate the voices of women and address ongoing challenges. The commitment to an inclusive, survivor-centered approach is essential for meaningful progress and international accountability. Under the current extraordinary circumstances, we need every concerned stakeholders support. We are already grateful of civil society organizations, women rights advocates and brave leaders of Afghanistan’s women movement who have joined this historic initiative. This will be the beginning of a new beginning for Afghanistan at the international system. Your support is still needed.
Moving forward with aim of revitalizing Afghanistan’s emerging civil&democratic forces&our national dialogue series, CDP-G is honored to present our new distinguished experts team members. Afg Civil society moves from networks toward a movement, we r honored to be pioneering hub.

Ms. Frozan Nawabi: I don't agree with Mr. Mohammadi. How can I make peace with the Taliban if they ban women from education and work? If the Taliban stay in power for 5 years, imagine where Afghanistan will lead to. We cannot tolerate the current situation in Afghanistan.
