Autoresearch is fun to watch working: 67 experiments with zero human intervention and a great session report by Claude.

The next step for autoresearch is that it has to be asynchronously massively collaborative for agents (think: SETI@home style). The goal is not to emulate a single PhD student, it's to emulate a research community of them.

Current code synchronously grows a single thread of commits in a particular research direction. But the original repo is more of a seed, from which could sprout commits contributed by agents on all kinds of different research directions or for different compute platforms. Git(Hub) is *almost* but not really suited for this. It has a softly built in assumption of one "master" branch, which temporarily forks off into PRs just to merge back a bit later.

I tried to prototype something super lightweight that could have a flavor of this, e.g. just a Discussion, written by my agent as a summary of its overnight run:

Alternatively, a PR has the benefit of exact commits:

but you'd never want to actually merge it... You'd just want to "adopt" and accumulate branches of commits. But even in this lightweight way, you could ask your agent to first read the Discussions/PRs using GitHub CLI for inspiration, and after its research is done, contribute a little "paper" of findings back.

I'm not actually exactly sure what this should look like, but it's a big idea that is more general than just the autoresearch repo specifically. Agents can in principle easily juggle and collaborate on thousands of commits across arbitrary branch structures. Existing abstractions will accumulate stress as intelligence, attention and tenacity cease to be bottlenecks.

it’s basically an ai research agent that runs experiments for you 24/7

you give it a goal like

“make this model better”
“find a higher converting landing page”
“lower customer acquisition cost”

then it runs a loop:

1) plan an experiment
2) edit the code or config
3) run a short test on a gpu
4) read the metrics
5) keep the winner
6) try again

over and over

while you sleep

by the morning you wake up to the best version

actual tested improvements

think of it like a robot research intern that runs hundreds of experiments and only keeps the winners

Let’s take a minute brahs.

I wanna share why I’m here for all you legends

“WAGMI” didn't begin as a crypto slogan in case y’all didn’t already know. It goes wayyy back to 2008 and was a battle cry from my brother Az aka Zyzz to motivate the masses to strive for greatness !

“We’re all gonna make it, brah.”

He passed in 2011. He was 22, at the peak of his fame.

Everyone came to know the phrase after he died. But many people don't know that it was because I went through his hard drive, watched clip by clip, and shared those videos with the world to continue his legacy. I did what any big brother would do to honour his life.

Over the next 10 years WAGMI made its way through gaming, music, and the fitness world.

And then almost 10 years later, around 2020 and at a time similar to where we are now in 2026, it made its way into the crypto world as a way to show unification and suddenly the whole space was saying it.

His message helped me realise I could make it… even without him. And over the last 15 years, I did. I built, I survived, I carried the torch. it was big shoes to fill let me tell you that, and a blessing and a burden at the same time. But I ran with it and never looked back and carried his legacy on my back with pride and joy whilst building my own.

WAGMI was his legacy. It became everyone's. Yours, mine, all of us.

This week a WAGMI coin launched and I started getting some fees from someone else. It didn’t feel right only taking without giving back, so I stepped in, took control, spoke to the community, and started building a real team to do this properly.

Because honestly… I just entered crypto and the vibe is heavy. Negativity everywhere, people are feeling low. And the world outside feels low too. Just like back in 2020 brahs :( …I’m going to change that, I’m the torch bearer and I’m here to make sure we are all gonna make it.

So this is a calling. A signal. A rally cry.

For the trader staring at red. For the worker stuck in a tough job. For those fighting demons at 3am. For the lifter trying to find motivation again.
