Right out the post-training gate, many doctors knock themselves off the path to financial independence.
How?
By not making a cashflow plan and giving every one of their dollars an assignment
By hastily buying a home without thinking of the long-term financial and career implications.
By letting their student (and other) debt fester.
By "investing" in life insurance.
By hiring the first financial advisor they meet because the financial plan was "free."
By not paying for quality tax advice.
By making money decisions based off of the guaranteed salary they're offered initially.
By not (for those who are married) protecting their relationship with their spouse.
By not thinking about what they actually want to prioritize and value with their spending.
Don't be this person!
Finally! A full video. When I got the invitation to do a full Ghanaian Food takeover at Snapchat hq, I couldn't believe it! But I knew exactly what to do in that moment . I am so grateful to Snapchat for the opportunity to showcase Ghanaian food culture ❤️🌟.
Most residents bring home about $1900 every two weeks.
This isn’t the time to pay off your student loans.
You’re not building wealth right now, you’re building your income engine.
Focus on that, your personal health and your relationships.
The money will come later.

mom: ok for the record that’s not why we are here but that is a problem
For every PGY1 thats nervous about July 1, theres a PGY2 nervous about no longer being an intern, a PGY3 nervous about being in their last year, and a graduate nervous about being a new attending. And someone with years of experience out there who knows you all will be ok.
After completing 3,788 practice questions in the last 4 weeks, including 2,028 UWorld questions, 2 UWorld self assessments, 2 Free120s, 6 practice NBMEs and one OFFICIAL Step 2 exam later…
I’m officially free from the reigns of Step 2!! 🎉💃🏻🥳
