Warren Sapp shares the 5 things Tony Dungy warned NFL players about that could ruin their careers
“There’s five things Tony Dungy told us, and I remember this like yesterday, that’ll keep you off the cover of USA Today”
• Out past 12 midnight
• Plus 15 on the speed limit
• Drugs or guns
• Alcohol
• Women you know too well or not well enough
“Look at your boy [Henry Ruggs]. He’s going 156 miles an hour at two in the morning with a gun, a chick, and drinking. He hit the five”
“When Allen Iverson got pulled over that time, 93 miles an hour at two in the morning with a gun. The only thing he didn’t have was the drugs, alcohol, or some of that. It’s the five. Tony Dungy laid that thing out for us, and I’m telling you that they keep hitting you over and over and over again”
The way to excel is to use a professional’s mindset …even before you are pro/in the high tier of your field. That means you relegate motivation and inspiration. Simply show up to the work. Every day. @SPressfield explains.
The Joker once said:
"When we understand that each day isn't one more day, but one less, we start giving more value to what truly matters and that hit hard"
How Yoga Nidra puts you in "edit mode" for the unconscious mind:
"In Yoga Nidra, you're in a trance, and in that trance you're in the edit mode for your unconscious mind."
"A sankalpa is a resolve that you put in there, and that's where the rewriting comes in."
"A being statement is the pluripotent stem cell of where you want to go."
"Willpower is necessary when you are trying to not be narcissistic. It is not necessary when you are no longer narcissistic."
"Why not just change the tendency? That's literally what we do in psychotherapy every day."

"Visualizing exercise resulted in a strength increase by 35%."
The imagination is powerful:
Visualise sales; you'll close more.
Visualise success; you'll be richer.
Visualise public speaking; you'll be calmer.
Focus your mind on winning and you win more.
Sleep may be the most underrated performance enhancer in sports.
And the simplest experiment is to get a little more. Move bedtime earlier by 15 minutes at a time and track what happens to your speed, strength, reaction time, and recovery.
Before a major competition, bank sleep for a week or two. Do not place all the pressure on the night before. And do not panic over one bad night. The bigger problem is sleep loss accumulating across several days or weeks.
More sleep. Added gradually. Banked before competition. No catastrophizing over one imperfect night. That's the strategy @michaelgrandner outlined in our recent podcast discussion.
