The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has received concerning videos and photographic representations through the CM’s Grievance Cell from conscientious Students of Jadavpur University, reporting instances of objectionable, sociopathic, violent and Anti-National wall graffiti & drawings inside the Arts Division Boys Hostel premises.
Educational Institutions are sacred spaces of learning, academic excellence and nation-building. Under no circumstances will Campus premises be permitted to be used as platforms for spreading deranged propaganda and Anti-India sentiment.

I urge Vice Chancellor, Jadavpur University, Principal Secretary Higher Education Department and other competent Authorities to initiate an immediate inquiry into the matter, firstly by conducting an on-ground physical verification of the Arts Division Boys Hostel area to ascertain the existence of these inappropriate wall graffiti and if found then proceed to identify the individuals involved.

The West Bengal Government strictly follow Zero Tolerance Policy towards Anti National Activities anywhere in the State, especially in Campuses of Educational Institutions. The concerned Department and University Administration must ensure stringent compliance and the preservation of academic integrity. If the presence of such Anti-National messaging and deranged psychotic drawings is verified, immediate steps must be taken to remove the graffiti, fix accountability and initiate strict administrative and legal action against those responsible.

West Bengal’s educational institutions must remain centers of merit & discipline, not grounds for divisive rhetoric and unsocial activities.

Outsiders suddenly turning into ‘experts’ on the Gargi incident, eyewitness accounts without ever being there, facts optional, narrative compulsory.

A female student being denied a free and fair election, thrown out of her own college, manhandled, and allegedly harassed by male staff, apparently all of this is a ‘laughing matter.’

But those raising their voice for her? Conveniently labelled and dismissed.

On this day, 16 August 1946, Bengal witnessed one of the darkest chapters in its history — the Great Calcutta Killings.
Instigated by the Muslim League’s “Direct Action Day,” the city was plunged into unprecedented communal violence. We lost over 4,000 lives, and lakhs were displaced in just three days.
This was not a spontaneous clash but a politically orchestrated bloodshed that deepened the wounds of partition. Hindu homes and businesses were targeted, and law and order collapsed under the provincial Muslim League government.

We must remember this tragedy and honour the victims. The Great Calcutta Killings stand as a grim reminder of what happens when divisive politics override humanity.

History must be told as it happened — without filters, without distortion — so that such horrors never repeat in our Bharat.
