Single-person households are projected to hit 10.7 million by 2050 (assuming 0.88% annual growth rate and no change in current cultural trends).
Total households are forecast to increase at 0.67% per year to 34.3 million.
Overall population is expected to grow at 0.60% annually, reaching 80.6 million.

This results in ~31.1% of all households holding only one occupant by 2050.
