We have delivered the following statement this afternoon at the meeting of Cambridge City Council concerning our campaign to protect Cambridgeshire’s groundwater and inappropriate interventions in the political process by Cambridgeshire Police.

@FewsLane@PCCCambs @nmassey79 @rm113 It will be interesting to see if he’s willing to show some backbone, stand up against the establishment and support local communities to address wrongdoings.
Despite 3 polite requests to meet us to discuss the real impacts on communities - he’s ignored us
https://t.co/I0vtIZClQQ
@PCCCambs You demand public engagement from others yet you have not even acknowledged a local community that reached out to you repeatedly having been bullied and harassed by an organisation you are happy to endorse as being community minded.
Where is the balance?

Today three local authorities, beset by huge financial problems entirely of their own making, have been given permission to hike council tax far beyond the usual limits.
How can it be right that residents of Thurrock, Croydon and Slough will pay the price for these scandals?
@SandieBlickem @C_residentsgrp @AndrewsButchers And just because it’s expensive infrastructure, that doesn’t make it the right infrastructure.
That’s the same sort of logic as “we built this bomb - so we should use it”!!
Rainwater pools in those 1960\70’s roundabout which will freeze and make them treacherous. Go have a look
@SandieBlickem @C_residentsgrp @AndrewsButchers Seriously??
There is an AND between disabled AND female.
Have you ever gone down below this roundabout?
Less mobile folks will struggle.
Equally, females have avoided it for years.
Gritted roads are far less dangerous than non-gritted, sloping lanes in the dark!
@C_residentsgrp @nmassey79 Utter nonsense - cyclists have as much right to use the road safely; motorists should obey the law. This isn’t about #commonsense it’s about #thelaw.
And councils do grit roads - not cycle paths.
1000’s of residents cycle here and want to do so safely.

Just a reminder that Longstanton Parish Council actively hid environmental information about the groundwater collapse from the public and meanwhile got planning permission for their development of the former village gravel pits.
Net cash to parish council: around £4 million
For those who don't fully understand what is up with the NHS, here is a thread for you that might help.
I'm a consultant physician working as a doctor in the NHS in Yorkshire and Wales for 32 years now. I have experienced the NHS at its best (2008) and its worst (2022).
@GreaterCambs If it’s about congestion and pollution - why not increase tax on private jets into @CBGAirport by 3000%?
They can afford it or use Stansted and get a train up to connect to your “world class” bus service.
Make it equally less desirable for the super rich that don’t live here.
Water Resources East consultation running until late Feb - an important read given this slide in their presentation pack showing supply-demand deficit if nothing is done... https://t.co/Y7eJdlNpcz @MonicaHone@greenarteries@FewsLane@Feargal_Sharkey
@FewsLane@SouthCambs At Marshall’s radar planning meeting @CouncillorTumi said “I believe in science”. We do not believe she read any of the residents independent noise report - instead relying on @camcitco highly biased one.
Has she ever been to Longstanton’s dried up ponds to ‘experience’ science?
Yesterday I told the story of the computers we did for the pandemic. I've posted our latest effort - which is a Christmas fair for under-privileged children. https://t.co/YswE4gocHF Please allow me to tell you a little bit more about that if I may? 1/10
Cllr Dr Hannah Copley @HannahCCopley says:
“I call on the Government to act quickly to initiate detailed negotiation and deliver nurses the pay rise they deserve. Nurses are chronically undervalued and underpaid, and have faced year on year real term pay cuts..”👇

I visited @MarshallADG to meet with Group Corporate Communications Director, Christopher Walkinshaw. We spoke about the importance of taking care of our communities and how their apprenticeships can fulfil young people’s potential and prevent them getting involved in crime.
@FewsLane@PCCCambs we really hope you agree that communities should feel protected by the police and that they are they to protect them.
You wouldn’t want people to think you only protect the political elite and big business…
@PCCCambs@SouthCambs Northstowe is a classic example of a new development constructed without regard for existing communities.
This has been a catastrophic failure by @SouthCambs highlighted through titanic efforts by the likes of @FewsLane.
All communities deserve a voice and peace in their homes.
@PCCCambs@SouthCambs Can we ask how you perceive existing communities?
Having been bullied and harassed for years by Marshall Group for their profit, twice now we’ve respectfully asked you to speak to us after lauding their ‘community ethics’.
We are yet to receive a reply.

It was great to have @PCCCambs join us to talk about the importance of a safe community and how we can work together to continue to build extraordinary futures.
