July is BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month. In many communities of color, including the Indian-American community, there can be a stigma associated with mental health struggles. We all must do what we can to remove this stigma and raise awareness of mental health.

Do you remember the TV show @heroes? It ran from 2006 to 2010. It's back on Netflix. We introduced Emily, our 13 year old to the show last night and she loved it. Pam and I are enjoying watching it again.

My favorite, for obvious reasons, was @sendhil_rama. (Is he good looking or what?)

I also loved him in @CovertAffairs. In that show, he was a CIA agent. One of the first South Asian action heroes without an accent and where his ethnicity played a minimal role in the plot. (In the show, he was actually half Indian.)

From @johnlewisorgs. We've made progress, but we certainly have much more work to do. It's not about fulfilling the vision laid out by our Founders. Their worldview was limited.

The way our administration -- and let's face it, too many of our neighbors -- treat immigrants, people experiencing homelessness, LGBTQ, people of color, people struggling with mental illness and other marginalized groups is disappointing to say the least.

We can and should do better. That is how we build a more perfect Union.
