🚨 META JUST GOT HIT WITH NEARLY $1 BILLION IN FINES FOR HARMING KIDS

A New Mexico judge ordered Meta to pay $567 million after finding the company failed to address social media addiction and mental health damage to children.

That brings Meta’s total state fines to $942 million.

The judge compared Instagram and Facebook to a factory dumping toxic pollution — saying the harm doesn’t stay online. It spills into families, schools, and real lives.

On top of the money, the court is forcing major changes in New Mexico for the next five years:

- Delete unverified accounts for kids under 13
- Block notifications during sleep and school hours
- Blur nude images
- Restrict adults from messaging minors
- Cap time on the platform at 90 hours a month

Meta says it will appeal and claims the ruling misrepresents the facts.

This is only the first of more than 40 state lawsuits to go to trial. California is next, and some are seeking damages in the trillions.
