@PeterMcCormack The reason why governments push up the minimum wage is also then the knock on effect to income tax take at the lower end so they are happy there and then blame everything else for inflation 😡
@alistrathern If they are such an attractive value proposition for new build why the need to regulate it as in a free market surely house builders who do this would be able to include the cost in their selling price and have it as a nice feature?
@RichardMcL48287@bphillipsonMP Labour don't understand that if you pay everyone loads more then everything we pay for also goes up, double the minimum wage and it sounds great but it will be £20 a pint, £25 for a latte and fuel will be £5 a litre for petrol. Actually all it will mean is we all pay more TAX !
@TheRealJamieKay If people have the financial means to move somewhere and not need welfare or benefits plus they maybe add to society in the form of taxes they pay then nobody objects either way to this. It's when they don't that's the issue.
@StocksandDares You cannot just take it if is a sustainable business so we the taxpayer would need to buy it at market rate. To do this we would need to borrow even more money!!! So even higher taxes in the short term.
@RyanShorthouse It's morally wrong to keep borrowing money to fund day to day spending. We MUST reduce the benefits bill and stop asking people to pay more and more tax.
@TorstenBell@KemiBadenoch It's a slippery slope if you start means testing like suggested as what do you means test next? The NHS?
I am sure Lord sugar is not pulling his state pension and would guess many wealthy are not either.
Those in the middle need it to have a respectable quality of life!
@resfoundation Your an independent think thank saying your there to lift living standards while at the same time your arguing to reduce the state pension ? Bit weird honestly, how about reviewing PIP and getting people who could easily work to actually work and improve their lives ?
@LStoerseth The average pensioner is 40years older and have worked for 40 years to get that home. I know that the young feel hard done by but this is ignoring that those pensioners had to work their careers to get that they have earned, it was never given like people expect of the state now.
@TrisOsborneMP You have always said oil is priced internationally and if we drilled ourselves it would do nothing to the price but how come we have the highest costs of all if it's set internationally?? I can tell you why! TAX !!!!!
@Opinionatednort@johnadgrady@mgshanks It's not just net zero but hiking minimum wage and NI as well as taxes on business makes operating a business almost impossible and if you dare to make a profit your somehow evil and you should be only breaking even and giving all "profits" to employees!
@lukerobertblack You do pay in via you NI and if you do not pay NI your not entitled to it! Yes there are not personal pots as everyone gets the same, if it was personal imagine the outrage that high tax payers would get more out than those who paid in less! As a next gen Tory you should see this
@jhansonradio Are we the poorest or richest generation of workers now?
There is huge amount of wealth in the country but that does not mean everyone is wealthy and that's the same with pensioners lots have virtually nothing and most are just having at best a moderate quality of life.
@andyburnham There will be no bank of mum and dad with you lot as you will take it off them when they die in death taxes and your taxing fuel and energy so high that they are likely not going to have anything spare to give them anyway.
@DaleVince So if both sides would be better off b ing together why can they not do a deal as good or better than before? Why worse? Just out of spite? If they could sort out some key issues on migration, funding and sovereignty then they might get somewhere or else I think not.
