Excited to share our preprint! By avoiding genetic bottlenecks leading to the germline, plant development prevents mutations from spreading to many offspring: https://t.co/ITxZ7cxm1E

There is a real and imminent threat of a 50% cut in science funding in the U.S. If you believe that this is a terrible mistake, then now is the time to call your local representatives and let them know exactly how it would affect their district. Be specific and talk to a person.
The UGA Integrated Plant Science Graduate Program is accepting applications for 2025. Cohorts can enroll in 1 of 9 degree programs, perform research with one of 80 faculty, collaborate across disciplines & campuses, & participate in Plant Center events. https://t.co/iri8sufq1x
Happy to announce that some of my PhD work in @ProfParrott ‘s Lab has been published!
If you use GreenGate cloning to make plant transformation vectors and are looking for a multiplexing option, please give it a read! My DMs are open to chat!

Come and be my colleague!! One of the nicest, most collegial departments you could ever wish for is looking to add a new tenure track professor to its ranks broadly in the area of Developmental Biology :)
Our deep dive into cis-regulatory diversity using single-cell genomics across maize germplasm reveals how genetic variants reshape chromatin accessibility, transcription factor binding, chromatin interactions and much more. Led by

This is so cool! TF function is so much more than just DNA-binding, but its been a lot harder to identify and interpret other aspects of TFs. Activation domains, in particular, tend to be fair "unstructured" and hard to predict computationally. This is a huge step forward!
How do TFs recruit the transcriptional machinery? This critical cellular function is incompletely understood. Led by postdoc Nick Morffy, we experimentally identify Arabidopsis ADs at scale and use this immense dataset to create an AD predictor, TADA.

While I am absolutely heartbroken to have my colleague and friend leave our current uni, I am so excited for her. If you are interested in evo-devo, apply!
So proud of my lab for our latest work out today in @Naturepub. We took advantage of transposable elements and CRISPR to perform targeted insertion of cargo DNA in the Arabidopsis and soy genomes. Led by @mcliupeng. https://t.co/wSvr1uuEbF. 🧵
