@natetexsun@PASMeeting Wait, don’t give up the hope. What if we give it as a late treatment instead of systemic steroids (Little Lungs study). Late surf replacement and targeted steroids!!
Our PDA trends and outcomes paper is officially out.
Grade 2 BPD is rising in more mature extremely preterm infants. It's not due to increased survival and unlikely to be ralated to PDA tx trends. #neotwitter

@BrianKingNeo Exactly! one is known to decrease BPD, fascilitate extubation, decrease CP in right babies. The other is investigational, invasive and require transfer (in our setting).
Piccolo vs DART in a 4wk old, 1000g, 23 weeker on MV, failed medical tx. A common question that comes up in our practice. How do you approach this? #neotwitter
NICHD NRN study investigates association between the secular decrease in treatment of PDA & trends in neonatal mortality and morbidity in infants born at 26 to 28 wks’ GA. @JPediatrics

@BrianKingNeo@EBNEO@EpiSconroy Only 61 were excluded for NRN PDA trial (enrollment since 2018, Covid years). Included hospital as a co variate in the model (centers have multiple hospitals, only continously participating hospitals were included).
@BrianKingNeo@EBNEO@EpiSconroy We had a previous paper which showed no change in PDA tx in 22-25 weeks, reason why we only looked at 26-28weeks.

@NICU_Musings These studies are important but I remain speculative (including on my own studies) that despite fancy statistics you can't assure that two groups are similar at baseline.
Thrilled to share our study on using AI to enhance neonatal intubation! By automating glottic detection, we’re taking steps toward safer, more precise care for the tiniest patients. Check our paper: https://t.co/1HTGM16XpQ #AI#NeonatalCare#Innovation@NeomindAi
@drbretty@PlussTrial Did you seek antenatal consent (doesn’t look like it). It’s incredible your team was able to get consent in that short time frame after birth.
Such a great idea and a fantastic study @PlussTrial by @drbretty et al. Why it didn't work?
Should S+S be more selective? Do babies have lung inflammation that early? Would it work if use it on babies with more severe lung ds and inflammation? (eg. vs DART) #neotwitter#neoEBM
