I think about this Dune quote a lot lately with everything going on it the world. It's a lot more profound than it seems on the surface. At the end of the day, fear is nothing but an unwelcome visitor. When we allow it to pass, we still remain. We are still who God made us to be.

How horrible is it that people who were angry that a noble and nonviolent man was killed in front of thousands of students didn’t riot! Oh wow, and they…they FORGAVE the murderer?! I wonder what kind of culture could be procured from the opposite values. Oh wait, we saw that already with BLM riots.

I’ll take the large stadiums full of worship and praise for God and Christ over any heathens shooting people in the street and ruining businesses, thank you very much. 🙏

We need to be careful what we are letting shape our thoughts. This world is always pulling at us. Social media, news, opinions, are all being spewed at us through the informational fire hose that is the internet. Stay grounded in the Word of God. The Spirit still speaks.

It’s not permission to keep on sinning because “God will just forgive me”. It’s the hand that lifts up the repentant when they turn to Christ. It’s free, but it cost everything.
