El pulso de la red ferroviaria española.
He animado un mapa con los más de 7.500 trenes programados para un jueves cualquiera, minuto a minuto y siguiendo la vía real.
Algunos datos interesantes...
AI is probably the biggest prisoner’s dilemma we’ve ever created. Everyone knows slowing down might be safer. But if OpenAI slows down and Anthropic doesn’t, OpenAI loses. If the US slows down and China doesn’t, the US loses. So nobody slows down.
That’s what makes this so insane. You don’t need some evil person trying to destroy the world. You just need a bunch of people making the rational decision for themselves over and over until collectively we’ve raced somewhere none of us actually wanted to go.
It’s a race to zero. Zero cost of intelligence. Zero time between thinking and doing. Maybe eventually zero need for us at all.
Some thoughts on the Navier-Stokes news from a professor of aerospace engineering:
1) take a deep breath
2) posts indicating we "solved Navier-Stokes" are incorrect and overblown. A very specific mathematical proof involving a niche scenario for Navier-Stokes has *potentially* been shown (that a perfectly smooth incompressible initial condition with finite energy could produce a singularity--note the assumptions here piled on to an equation set that already involves some assumptions).
3) there is no general closed form solution for N-S and that's not what this news is about
4) this is more of a mathematical curiosity than anything else and could matter a lot to mathematicians but basically changes nothing in the way N-S are used in practice
5) there are already very useful exact solutions to Navier-Stokes that greatly simplify the equation set with the right boundary conditions/geometry like laminar flow through a pipe or a 2D Taylor-Green vortex
6) in aerospace, we already treat N-S as an approximation in many instances and are well aware of its limitations. we don't outright solve these equations anyway and regularly chop off terms or simplify parts (at the expense of accuracy) to make them easier to deal with.
7) to be honest I have never found this specific problem to be particularly interesting because we know a core assumption of N-S is a "continuum" fluid where you ignore molecules and assume hydrodynamic scales >>> molecular scales. We know a real fluid cannot have infinite velocity or energy. But clearly you can push equations outside of their bound of validity and make them produce funky results and singularities.
This model represents a step-function improvement on many benchmarks, and its training is ongoing.
Our internal model group arrived at the Navier–Stokes solution in 88 hours, using around 10,000 coordinating AI agents.
Throughout the effort, we maintained the strict safeguards—including monitoring and isolation—that we apply to all our frontier evaluations.
A lot of people mention that Nancy Grace Roman was under budget and ahead of schedule but not a lot mention that it also was underweight. Teams were able to shave nearly 2 tonnes of mass off the spacecraft, allowing Falcon Heavy's side boosters to return back to land today.
Hace un par de años ya avisábamos de lo que podía pasar… y ha pasado… el destrozo es considerable… quien es el responsable… como pasa en lo público, nadie…qué destrozo… qué pena… #Oviedo#Ocb
"before there was all this AI craziness, u wouldn't have to say continual learning, because it wouldn't make sense to talk about learning that wasn't continual. all learning is continual. we always act and we learn. that's just the normal way of thinking. i'm not weird, the field is weird. they feel they need to call it 'continual learning'. it's just learning."
A total eclipse of the sunflower field. ☀️🌑🌻
The Moon passed between the Sun and Earth on Aug. 12, 2026, creating a total solar eclipse visible across parts of Greenland, Iceland, northern Russia, the Atlantic Ocean, Spain, and Portugal.
This composite image captures the eclipse's progression over a field of sunflowers in San Millán de los Caballeros, Spain. During totality, the Moon completely blocked out the Sun, briefly revealing the Sun's outer atmosphere, or corona.
Esta pieza sobre los eclipses que va a vivir España en los próximos años que hemos publicado en @elOrdenMundial es una preciosidad. Un trabajazo de @Alvaro_Merino_ para entender la secuencia de eclipses que vamos a poder disfrutar.
A giant leap to Mars! 🚀
NASA recently completed testing of a lithium-fed electromagnetic thruster, reaching 5x more power than today's electric propulsion systems. Paired with a nuclear power source, this tech could slash travel time to Mars!

We created a pitch deck to tell a handful of VC firms about us and what we were up to (a fun experience!). Here’s a few slides about our background and some of the things we’ve worked on from the pitch deck (it was fun putting together the list of people in our teams who have gone on to found a whole range of exciting companies). We are delighted to have selected @radicalvcfund
and @khoslaventures to lead our initial funding round, along with participation from @lightspeedvp, @kleinerperkins, Doerr Capital (@johndoerr), and Alphabet (@Google). We’ll be working with them to close our seed round over the next few weeks.
