So excited about this project! The project is part of an @NSF-funded cooperative agreement with @Internet2 called "Exploring Clouds for Acceleration of Science," and will create a library of BCOs on @awscloud, which can be accessed/contributed to through Galaxy.

@BioMickWatson Missing Hell Gate bridge! Longest steel arch bridge for years and model for later bridges like Sydney Harbor Bridge. But mostly just because it looks cool.
@JakeSaunders Feel free to join us on https://t.co/f4C30D3t6J to try it out. Still feeling it out. Less academic chatter so far, and wondering if the federated model will still enable listening to distant pockets of conversation that are out of my zone, but fun experiment so far.
@HadleyKingIV Yeah I think this is in line with Kahneman's Noise. A little bit complex because it's maybe not just police being in a better mood, citizens might generally also be!
It's so exciting to see community support for BioCompute starting to mature. If you want to learn about creating workflow records (BCOs) on major platforms like Seven Bridges, DNAnexus, and Galaxy, and depositing them into access controlled databases, come join us!
Learn more about new tools to author and submit BioCompute Objects (BCOs) in a 9/13 webinar starting at 10:30 A.M. Register today at: https://t.co/WRzDAQ1Z8h

Really nice video articulating a feeling I think a lot of folks have. I have watched the anti-racism sentiment lead to at least one policy that, ironically, ended up hurting poc more. Maybe a more thoughtful and - above all, humane - approach is needed.
"Ideology twisting scholarship with dangerous consequences is a phenomenon hardly limited to the Soviet Union. It's happening here, right now, in America, in an effort to spread an intolerant orthodoxy masquerading as 'Anti-racism.'"

@befaithful10 Would it be much different? I think the KJV bible was drafted by committee and debated by Parliament, no? Maybe it's better to go back to the ancient Hebrew/Aramaic/Greek to avoid the temptation of updating the stories with modern interpretations.
@BioMickWatson It does. Looks like it's got a little in common with Research Objects, but a glossier UI.

Wonder if they have support for RO (or for the BioCompute Objects standard).
The IVS team at @CajalNeuro is hiring another surgeon! We are a friendly group of hardworking scientists with a supportive team culture searching for novel therapeutic targets in neurodegenerative disease. Mouse stereotaxic surgery experience required. https://t.co/3qcNNq7Giv
Paid undergraduate internships in all areas of cell and cancer biology, including computational biology. Come spend the summer doing amazing and impactful research while also enjoying all that the pacific northwest has to offer!
@kph3k Great topic. This naively seems to do mostly with social signaling, often more for us to reaffirm our own values to ourselves than outward signalling. Excited to read your research/insights.
@grassisgreenre@mikeklymkowsky@CUBoulderMCDB Which, after it was all finished, we realized had a technical error in the arrangement when a grad student criticized the direct communication between the smooth ER and the golgi during the grand opening.
@grassisgreenre@mikeklymkowsky@CUBoulderMCDB I think I did (based on portions of the Alberts textbook I stitched together, and drew the whole thing on acetate and projected it into the wall)...
