At Sanniyinnayal PHC in Tambuwal LGA, Sokoto State, Inna brought her twin grandchildren for routine immunization because their mother was ill.
“I personally brought my grandchildren so they could receive their vaccines in time,” she said during the session, adding that she cannot afford to leave them unprotected when other children in the neighborhood are being vaccinated.
Across communities, thoughtful caregivers and family members like Inna continue to play an important role in ensuring children receive life-saving vaccines on time. #AllBabies

A randomized controlled trial (RCT) is a starting point, not a finish line.
As a program scales, understanding its real-world impact requires ongoing measurement. Last year, New Incentives conducted over 26,000 household surveys across 13 states to track vaccination coverage at the household level. Our newest blog explains the methodology behind that work.

Three themes came up in nearly every conversation we had at Skoll Week in April: how to close the gap between use and access at the last mile, what it actually takes to measure coverage at the household level, and whether existing delivery infrastructure can carry additional interventions. These aren’t new questions, but the energy around them feels different: better tools, more rigorous evidence, and sharper focus. We are grateful for the conversations and came home with a lot to think about.
Scaling a program is easy to talk about. Scaling one without compromising quality is a different story
In this presentation at EA Global London, our CEO Svetha Janumpalli walks through the pivots and failures behind New Incentives' growth—and what fidelity to cost-effectiveness actually demands. Since she gave this talk in 2023, we've enrolled another 5 million infants.

Happy Workers Day! From clinic staff to ABAE employees to LGA/state/national staff and implementing partners, YOU are on the front lines, helping protect babies in northern Nigeria from vaccine-preventable diseases. Thank you!
Our Stakeholder Relations Officers continue to strengthen collaboration with government partners through targeted engagements in Kano State.
During a recent visit, the team met with Alhaji Baffa Tajo Gaya, Kano State Primary Healthcare Coordinator, to share updates on the All Babies program and ongoing activities supporting routine immunization.
He acknowledged the program’s impact and provided practical feedback to strengthen operations and improve coordination at the facility level.
These engagements remain central to sustaining strong partnerships and supporting routine immunization across the states.

Today, 25 countries across Africa offer malaria vaccines as part of routine childhood immunization. About 10 million children each year are targeted to receive malaria vaccines across the continent. Every child reached with the malaria vaccine brings us closer to a healthier, longer life for all.

Malaria is the single largest killer of children under five globally, with most deaths occurring in sub-Saharan Africa.
Malaria is a preventable disease and the rollout of proven malaria vaccines can save tens of thousands of child lives every year. We need to invest in wider rollout so more children can benefit.
The time to act is now.

t’s #WorldImmunizationWeek.
Vaccines have saved more than 150 million lives over the past 50 years.
Families’ decisions to vaccinate their children, together with health workers’ commitment to reaching every child, have contributed to a 40% improvement in infant survival over the past 50 years and protected tens of millions of children from lifelong disabilities.

In March, the All Babies team met with Gombe State's Deputy Governor, Dr. Manasseh Daniel Jatau, to review progress in routine immunization and discuss how to reach more children.
Since launching in Gombe, over 396,000 caregivers have been enrolled in the All Babies program, with ₦2.5 billion disbursed to support completion of immunization visits. The state has also recorded improvements in BCG, Penta 1, and Measles 2 coverage.
The Deputy Governor reaffirmed the state's commitment to sustaining immunization efforts through continued engagement with traditional and religious leaders.
In his Staff Shout-Out nomination, States Partnerships Manager Retshak Gunen praised Supply-Side Officer Rufai Isah for effectively monitoring the supply of vaccines in two states—Kano, where he usually works, and Kebbi, where he covered a temporary staff gap. "Despite the increased workload, he maintained diligence in investigating stockouts, accurately identifying false alarms, and conducting detailed follow-ups to prevent recurrence. His commitment to maintaining data integrity and service continuity under pressure makes him a strong role model."
In Gombe State, the Chief, UNICEF Bauchi Field Office, is on the field with vaccination teams ensuring every child gets protected through the ongoing polio vaccination campaign.
What really happens between a vaccinator and a child?
It is more than just a drop, it is patience and care. A vaccinator often has to earn a child’s trust, turning fear into comfort and helping them feel safe while getting vaccinated.
