Such an inspiring cycle round @wfcouncil today with @Labourstone showing me the sights. Flowers, peace and quiet, cycling, walking and even audible birdsong. My mind now even more full of ambition for Newham #liveableneighbourhoods
The @FGFestivalE7 needs your help! They are raising funds to put on this year’s event and every donation helps. Go to https://t.co/0nYRu98lYj and thank you x pls RT
We could do with some of this education (and enforcement?!) too please @NewhamLondon. Experience poor driver behaviour around zebra crossings daily. https://t.co/ir5ZeJlm3c
We're at Pitfield Street for the next few hours making sure road users respect the zebra crossing.
There are bike mechanics here too, so come down for a free bike check!
@Privatecarfree @newhamcyclists Yes, that’s our understanding. You’re right, the money available is significantly lower but you can submit proposals for multiple schemes.
@Privatecarfree We’re aware of the successor Liveable Neighbourhoods scheme and along with @newhamcyclists met with the new Newham mayor ahead of the election and got a commitment to submit one or more bids for funding.
Tune into #Newsnight tonight to hear our air pollution research and #walktoschool report discussed. You can view all the findings and the report on our website #WalktoSchoolWeek https://t.co/PKMzAzZ2Qw https://t.co/7a9B4VmbGg
Interesting article in the Guardian today about @livingstreets call for road closures around schools at drop-off and pick-up times. Would you like to see this happening in Newham? Join us and help amplify our campaigns! https://t.co/lVWuQdsVYM
For Monday's meeting (a week early due to the Bank Holiday) we'll be having a ride around the rat-runs of Sherrard Road & Stanley Road in Manor Park. Meeting outside the Golden Fleece on Capel Road at 7.30pm & returning there for refreshment and discussion with @RatRunningSSSHM
Interesting account of meeting between @CycleIslington and Jeremy Corbyn, showing high level Labour support for our vision of a Newham that supports and encourages active travel:

@diaryofaminicab One thing I’ve seen is EV chargers retrofitted to lampposts which seems to have potential. Especially for cab and other professional drivers wanting EV at home to recharge overnight.
@diaryofaminicab Bikes also use the roads so I’m not sure why docking points in the road would be an issue. You can fit a lot of bikes in the space taken by one parked car. Just taken this where 13 bikes parked in space of two cars.
@diaryofaminicab There are not currently many in Newham. Concern is that guidance unclear about where they should be placed in future. EV charging points are for road vehicles and pedestrians should not pay the price. Unsure what points are being made about cycles or relevance to this.
After some fascinating (and only slightly baffling) discussion @LDN_LS about phasing of junctions, we are now discussing good junction design that helps and encourages walking 🚶♀️
