@TheModernist_CA@trvkemoder That assumes we have no recourse to God outside of moral norms. But I have found it more and more difficult to even view naturalism as a coherent view in itself, leaving to the side for a moment the question of morality.
@HolliLoki@Donaldbigrump@ManishEarth I don’t appreciate the tone. For all you know, I could be a former Pope who pretended to die, and now you’re risking exposing me.
@M_Resanovic@dom_dont_tweet@TrueVAIndie Is there a reason you don’t like Gorsuch besides Bostock? Because that + NA issues are the only things he’s notably “less conservative” than Kavanaugh/Barrett on…
The argument against gerrymandering is simple and correct: voters should choose their politicians, not the other way around. Unfortunately, because of the structure of our lower house, it’s almost impossible to fix this without a constitutional amendment.
Sometimes I think JFK’s style was bad. Other times, I think it was just not my taste — slim tie, small lapels, slightly off cuts, etc.
Then I see a picture like this and I feel totally vindicated:
@HolliLoki@Donaldbigrump@ManishEarth I don’t appreciate the tone. For all you know, I could be a former Pope who pretended to die, and now you’re risking exposing me.
@HolliLoki@Donaldbigrump@ManishEarth IDK I’m not a scientist. But legally, if you’re only pretending to be dead to get out of being Pope, you don’t have to respond to your papal name, just your given name.
@HolliLoki@Donaldbigrump@ManishEarth That’s not true, it’s to make sure that he is dead as a pope and as an ordinary man. Some popes have pretended to die to vacate the office without a resignation.
I really don’t see how deterministic accounts of salvation fail to end in universalism. How is it possible, even in principle, for the divine will to be at the same time the author of salvation and the author of damnation?
