Tim Friede spent nearly 2 decades turning himself into a human science experiment — injecting snake venom on purpose over 700 times and surviving more than 200 bites.

While most of us avoid cobras and mambas, Tim was busy becoming immune to them — and now his blood might save thousands of lives a year.

Scientists found his DIY immunity packed “broadly neutralizing antibodies” that worked against 13 of the world’s deadliest snakes — and partially against 6 more.

Current antivenoms need to match specific snakes like a bad Tinder date. Tim’s blood just gave us a shot at going universal.
