Don’t use these images to mock Luos. Luos pay taxes and have done so since 1963. The construction of roads is not the responsibility of citizens; it is the duty of government—county and national.

For 15 years, Jomo Kenyatta used taxes Luos paid to build roads in Central Kenya or the so-called Mount Kenya region. Kenyatta intentionally sabotaged all development in Luo Nyanza.

For 24 years, Daniel arap Moi used taxes Luos paid to build roads in Central and Rift Valley while intentionally sabotaging all development in Luo Nyanza.

For 10 years, Mwai Kibaki utilized taxes Luos paid to build roads in Central Kenya while deliberately sabotaging development in Luo Nyanza.

For 10 years, Uhuru Kenyatta continued the utilization of taxes collected from Luos to build roads and private estates in Central Kenya while actively sabotaging development in Luo Nyanza.

For the past 4 years, William Ruto has used 85% of taxes collected from Luos to build roads in Rift Valley and Central Kenya and has only used 15% of taxes collected from Luos to build performative development projects in Luo Nyanza.

For 4 years, @orengo_james has spent all the billions of public money allocated for Siaya County on expensive suits, alcohol and Sabrenya from Mount Kenya instead of building roads, creating employment and providing services.

So, stop mocking and laughing at the dilapidated state of roads in Nyanza.
