1. In 2022, Everton got a PGMOL apology after Rodri handball was not given as penalty. Everton lost 1-0, and Liverpool lost the title by 1 point because this handball decision was not given.
2. Last season, Arsenal got 2 PGMOL apologies which cost them 5 points. City won the League by 5 points
3. Man City have never received a PGMOL apology. Somehow the horrible quality of refereeing in this league never affects them, but affects their direct title rivals a lot.
So in last 2 years, 3 apology worthy mistakes have given 2 titles to Man City, the same team that has not been punished for FFP in 15 longgg years. You hear a lot of praise for City and Guardiola from pundits and ex-players. But if Klopp points out issues about FFP and VAR, he is said to be moaning/crying/whinging and should move on. Interesting, and quite an absurd logic 🤔
To summarise:
1) Curtis Jones sent off for a harsh red card. Still image makes it look worse.
2) Minutes later Liverpool take the lead but it’s wrongly disallowed for offside. VAR quickly rules it out, doesn’t use lines to check.
3) Salah flagged for a foul on Bissouma for basically nothing. If the ref doesn’t blow Salah is in the box and could create a big goal scoring opportunity.
4) Spurs get a corner when the ball clearly comes off Kulusevski.
5) Jota booked because Udogie trips himself. He then (stupidly) makes a rash challenge which gets him a second yellow.
6) Before Jota’s second yellow Udogie asks the ref to give Jota a second yellow for a minor foul. He doesn’t get booked even though asking for a yellow is now a bookable offence.
7) Robertson and Peter Krawietz booked for complaining about a foul on Robertson.
8) Bissouma gets a yellow for putting a hand in Wataru’s face. A hand in the face should be a red card.
9) In general, Simon Hooper made a number of decisions which went against Liverpool’s flow in the game. Not being given advantage when we should have, pulling up players for fouls which were incredibly soft.
@seftoncouncil this is the well used path between Switch Island Leisure Park and Edward Jenner Ave. It’s overgrown with weeds and nettles and is rather dangerous especially when walking through with children.
