2 things happened this week… a good friend sadly had to put their lovely family dog down and someone told me there was no way they would ever get a dog because they were… “too much work”.
It made me think about how much we love our Winnie.
You start by getting a dog and think that you’re looking after them but the truth is they care for you.
Dogs don’t worry about yesterday or tomorrow - they are kings and queens of living in the moment.
‘Pets’ doesn’t really cover it… they are teachers… they are friends.
They mirror you. Their fear grows when yours does. When you are steady, they are at peace and, when something good happens… they’ll celebrate like it’s the best thing in the world.
Your dog knows the sound of you coming home, they learn your walk, the rhythm of your laugh and the moment your heart sinks… you are their everything.
You are not just their owner… you make them feel safe, you are their routine… you are what home feels like.
Every walk is more than exercise… it is precious time with their favourite person.
One day… you won’t hear them rushing when you arrrive to show you how much they love having you around. I am not looking forward to that day 💔
You are not just a part of their life… you are their life.
I was told there was apparently some backlash mentioned on Irish radio. I can’t see any there, can you? Or is that just the usual media lust for bloodsport to gain listenership even if it’s not true. Shame on RTE NATIONAL IRISH RADIO. Try to kick a guy when he’s down!
🎉🎉🎉🎂🎂🎂So 50 years old TODAY, I feel so grateful, so blessed, so content and loved. Life throws many things our way, good, bad, painful and sometimes confusing. But we keep going, stay strong, we fall down occasionally. All this is part of our life’s journey. It’s makes us the truest version of ourselves-I’m lucky to do a job I love, have the most beautiful family, my partner Al is the reason I laugh the most, and I laugh a lot. Love and laughter are the best ingredients for a fantastic relationship. Then to top it off I got my MBE this year, another massive reason to have the biggest smile daily. Thank you to all of you-you know who you are-my besties and my loyal ones. My Mum in heaven shining down on me with pride today. Massive birthday hugs to you all from me Lisa xxx💛💛💛 #birthday #happybirthday #fyp #honest #love 🎂🎂🎂🎉🎉🎉
Well, the past year flew by - today is my 61st Birthday and I’ve spent most of the year reflecting and looking backwards. One of the strange and emotional things about getting older is realising that my mother only ever knew me up to the age of 22. She never met the 30-year-old me, the 40, the 50, the 60, or me now.
I’ve felt my mother threaded through so much of what I’ve been doing this year with the Little Miss Twain album... Sometimes I have to stop and think about how completely unbelievable all of this would have sounded to that little girl and to my mother! My dream at the time was to be able to busk in the streets of Toronto, I didn’t imagine something bigger, that seemed such a leap from where I was. Moving forward and now looking ahead I plan to be kind to myself and others. It’s what the world needs now. I want to enjoy these moments for exactly what they are and do as many new things as I can. There are still so many things I dream of I would need another 500 years to get them all done. I want to face the things that scare me and enjoy the things that please me.
So cheers everyone to appreciating the path behind you and the one infront of you equally. Please take a moment to listen to my album Little Miss Twain - it would mean the world to me, it’s my heart and soul and story all in one ❤️ Here’s to another year of fun, laughter and dressing up!
Dolly Parton, the beloved global entertainment icon who sold more than 100 million records and whose songwriting prowess and sure-handed approach to her career reshaped the face of country music, popular music, and the entertainment industry at large, has died. 🕊️
I was lucky enough to know and work with the one and only Dolly Parton. She was a phenomenal guest on the show; always funny and always made everyone she met feel like a million dollars. We did duets together, laughed together and danced through Dollywood in the Smoky Mountains of Pigeon Forge. And even though we did all that, I would still get butterflies just being in her presence. And that’s kind of what I think of when I think of Dolly. She’s a butterfly. Beautiful. Magical. Dreamy. And like most butterflies, they stay for a moment - captivate you, fascinate you, mesmerize you and then fly away far too soon. I love you Dolly. I will always miss you.
History: the Browns are waiving tight end Dae’Quan Wright and, if he clears waivers, he has an agreement in place for the 2026 season to play for LSU, per agents Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln.
Wright is believed to be the first player who could play for an NFL team, and then go back to play in college.
Thoughts and prayers to all those affected by my sleeves.
Made the mistake of opening my social media this afternoon. Some of yall are OUT OF CONTROL.
My biceps should NOT be a news story. We have more important things to worry about.
Goodness. And God Bless America. 🙏🇺🇸
Had a BLAST celebrating high schoolers from across the country with the Heads of Disney, ABC, ESPN, and… The United States Of America
I’m proud of all parties getting behind this important initiative to keep future generations excited about remaining active.
Cheers to the incredible contestants and to next year’s Patriot Games
No one is actually upset that Philly fans booed players not named Harper or Schwarber last night.
They are jealous their cities have no real passion and it makes them feel insecure about their own fandom.
I’m not sure I’ve found the words yet.
If I’m being honest, last year wasn’t filled with many highs. There were a lot more questions than answers, a lot more frustration than celebration, and plenty of moments that tested my belief in myself. This game can be incredibly humbling. It doesn’t owe you anything, and sometimes the only thing you can do is keep showing up and trust that the work will eventually pay off.
That’s why this week means so much.
To the fans, thank you for making this championship what it is. New York crowds are passionate, honest, and demanding. Whether you were pulling for me or not, you created an atmosphere I’ll never forget and pushed all of us to compete at our best.
Thank you to the @USGA , the members of Shinnecock Hills, the volunteers, and every person behind the scenes who made this week so special. This place is everything a U.S. Open should be, and I’m incredibly honored to have my name connected to it forever.
To my team, family, friends, and sponsors, thank you for staying in my corner through the difficult stretches. Thank you for believing in me on the days when believing wasn’t easy.
This trophy means more because of the road it took to get here. The setbacks, the doubts, and the hard days all make this moment that much sweeter.
I’ll never forget this week, this place, and what it feels like to stand here as a two-time U.S. Open Champion.
Forever grateful. 🏆 #PLAYBIG
