@XRStratford Local flooding due to climate change needs reporting on as such in the mainstream media, requiring more analysis rather than simple reaction reporting & single minded focus on flood defences. The issue needs linking to the bigger picture to help to help people vote for change
As suspected, Sultan Al Jaber, is an actual climate crisis denier, who pretended to accept the science, to further his company's oil business.

Three unelected representatives of a democracy fly in separate private jets to a petrostate to be greeted by a Big Oil CEO before spouting their rambling nonsense on climate change. Is this the best our species can muster when facing a climate emergency!

@SecretCFO@elonmusk And then link it to circular design so the product isn't only single life and throw-away but can be dissembled and reassembled into something new, critically using the original materials. Renaming it to the "smart index" could encourage such principles.
Solar panels are planned for our offices - another significant step towards our #netzero goal.
Using Cotswold Climate Investment funding, the panels will make our operations more sustainable while delivering substantial energy cost savings to taxpayers: https://t.co/7B0yEJnqpv
🚨 Greta Thunberg has been speaking at a Fossil Free London press conference by Hyde Park
She says “The elites have no intention of transition. We have to take direct action. We have to reclaim the power and that is what we are doing today. We have to kick oily money out”
@LBC
@Andrew9Boswell@rbuxtonlaw Congratulations Andrew! I really hope your action on this dereliction of duty to follow through on measure to achieve our statutory targets in Norfolk and the rest the nation is vindicated and successful. When will @Norfolk County Council take their duty seriously?

The facts that our political system is largely theatrical, that in any large majority government we become an autocracy. That a PM has more power than in almost any other country. That there are few rules and checks on MPs. No independent expert body to look to legislation or budgets - are all open secrets in the world of professional politics.
There is no incentive for the status quo parties to change anything as the system benefits them - money for old rope!
So what do we do. Give up, just let them carry on? Or do we expose the system and try to strengthen it?
For all the reasons @RoryStewartUK says in this @PoliticsJOE_UK video is why I set up The True & Fair Party @VoteTrueAndFair - what is very interesting is how few 'commentators' who expose and comment on political incompetence, weakness and corruption will put their heads above the parapet and fight for real change by standing for parliament. To create change from within.
Real reform will only come when people elect strong, independent-minded changemakers. Check out our website, policies to strengthen our #democracy, and candidates.

In the face of staggering environmental and financial costs, we question @NorfolkCC decision to pursue the project.
The quoted figures seem outdated, with current estimates showing an exorbitant construction cost of £400m, a far cry from the £210m funding from the government.
Can the council truly afford to meet this difference? We fear that this will lead to unnecessary borrowing and dipping into reserves which could be better utilised elsewhere, and which we know the Council cannot afford.
Moreover, the environmental implications cannot be ignored. This road would come at a devastating environmental cost, altering habitats and potentially threatening local wildlife, such as the super-colony of bats that have already been affected.
The approval process is far from over and we shall continue to oppose this project at every stage as we believe it poses significant risks, both financially and environmentally.
We stand for sustainable growth and development that respects our natural habitats and fiscal health.
We urge the Council to consider the long-term implications of the project and make choices that will benefit not just us, but future generations as well
The more we learn about the utter sxxxshow at No 10 and in government over their handling of #Covid, as well as the #corruption we already know about, we need a duty of candor for politicians akin to the Health and Social Care Act 2008, Regulation 20
The findings will shock you #Covidinquiry

@horton_official Sunak the smarmy eco wrecking ball - looks slick and business like on the outside - but inside a true blue interested in only one thing - self-serving wealth and Conservative party. He stands for darkness in this dimming world.
This is mind boggling silly. We’ve put 2.5 trillion tons of CO2 in the atmosphere. The amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has increased by 1.1 trillion tons after being relatively stable for millennia before we started emitting. It’s hard to get more clear-cut causality.
@CoppiceJT More obvious blah from a has been politician. He had his chance to make the right decisions as have the string of leaders that followed - but most of them have been pointless followers of the race to the bottom. Telling other countries what to do from the sidelines now is like...
