Night and day

I’m convinced 90% of a founder's job is to just do 3 things:

- be delusional in your optimism
- push everyone to move faster
- make it crystal clear what to work on

A dead MIT professor accidentally destroyed the $25 billion executive coaching industry with one hour of lecture, and ten million people have already watched him do it.

He filmed it once in January 2018 and died eighteen months later.

Executive coaches charge sixteen thousand dollars a session to teach a third of what he covered in that one hour for free.

His name was Patrick Winston. He ran the MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory from 1972 to 1997 and wrote the AI textbook every computer science major in the world read for thirty years.

Every January for four decades, he gave a lecture called "How to Speak."

His entire framework fits on a napkin.

Do not read. Be in the image. Keep images simple. Eliminate clutter. Start with an empathetic connection. End with a punch line the audience can repeat over dinner. Never open with a joke. Never end with "thank you."

That last rule alone has probably cost the executive coaching industry a hundred million dollars.

"Your success in life will be determined largely by your ability to speak, your ability to write, and the quality of your ideas. In that order."

That is the actual opening line of the lecture. Winston believed it strongly enough to spend fifty years teaching computer scientists how to talk.

Founders spend $80,000 on an MBA and then hire a communications coach to teach them the same material Winston filmed once for free. Engineers write brilliant code and lose promotions to teammates who watched this lecture on the train.

The lecture is free on MIT OpenCourseWare. The textbook is free on his page.

Winston died in 2019. Almost none of the ten million viewers have actually implemented the four rules on the napkin.

The napkin is free. The willingness to actually use it in your next meeting is the entire edge.

The answer is in this video. Don't miss this gem.

Going to leave you with this tonight:

The best thing you can do for yourself is actively increase your surface area for luck to hit you.

Go outside, travel more, go to new cafes, museums, events, take a new route home, go for hikes, see cities, countrysides, take your notebook, speak to people, ask questions, start businesses - go on more side quests.

You can literally just do things, and the more you do, the more serendipity and synchronicity will find you.

Night gang.

It doesn’t make sense to continue wanting something if you’re not willing to do what it takes to get it.

If you don’t want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire. To crave the result but not the process, is to guarantee disappointment.

Most people's daily routine:

- Wake up.
- Stare at a 6.7 inch screen.
- Work on a 16 inch screen.
- Relax with a 55 inch screen.
- Stare at a 6.7 inch Screen
- Sleep

This should scare the shit out of you.

He visto el eclipse. Lo he visto sin gafas durante 2 segundos.

También he visto el eclipse total. Absolutamente BRUTAL.

BELLEZA.

can someone explain to me how does one perform their 9-5 job well while also being able to:

> walk 10k steps a day
> work out 3x a week
> cook and eat healthy meals
> keep the house clean
> spend quality time with family
> maintain meaningful friendships
> sleep 6-8 hours a day
> read and enjoy books
> learn new languages
> take on a new skill
> keep up with AI developments
> stay on top of your health

and somehow also retire at 35 with 50 million dollars invested. genuinely asking.

A fit body is the ultimate status symbol.

It must be created through good habits, years of hitting the gym and controlling what you eat in the kitchen.

You can't fake having a fit body. It must be earned.

[Dan Go @CoachDanGo]

How to destroy your life

-Don't exercise
-Be a pessimist
-Spend all day indoors
-Don't get enough sleep
-Complain about everything
-Blame others for your circumstances
-Eat a diet full of hyper processed foods
-Wake up and immediately go on your phone
-Follow people who spread fear and negativity

If you want a great life the opposite of this list.

As a man

Never stay at home.

Go out, make friends, and create new connections.

A man's job is to face the world, take risks, and embrace difficulties.

Se acabó Mallorca.✈️

72 horas.

7) Tu salario
8) Tus seguidores en redes sociales
9) Las marcas que usabas

LAS PERSONAS RECORDARÁN:

[Dan Go @CoachDanGo]

The greatest cheat code is obsessing about your life and not the lives of others. People who obsess over others usually have nothing going on for themselves. Your attention is your currency. Spend it more on improving your life and enjoying it rather than fixating on other people who don't matter.

When you’re 85 years old and on your deathbed, you’re not gonna wish you had fewer crazy stories.

[Noah Ryan @NoahRyanCo]

Worst thing you can do in your twenties is play house. Ride a bunch of dead ends just because it’s comfortable. Apartment, dog, gf you don’t plan on marrying. Low mobility career while optimizing for the weekends. You’re sabotaging yourself and future you will hate you for it. Break the chain. Accept that it’s going to be messy and uncomfortable. Do whatever you need to do to get that momentum back.

Stop. Playing. House.

25-27 is that age where you really get hit by that fiery oppressive life heat wave and it takes a few years to acclimate. the glamorous job you wanted is ass, people are getting sick, your knees start to hurt. you wonder what the hell youre going to do with the next 50 years, if youll make it, what youll do, how youll spend your days. but its also where life gets good. where you learn to sit in the soup. where you move somewhere, try new things, flex your muscles in different poses and meet new people. you break, you bust, you babyface cry. you smile, you laugh, you discover, you get excited. eventually you get used to the temperature, but takes time. training. patience. mid 20s. ass! glory! this is where it happens. its great. it sucks. its beautiful. its anxiety. a right of passage. this is where you fuckin figure it out. the best time of your life.

[Pastanaga @PastanagaCrypto]

The older I get, the more I realize how much of your life is shaped by the stories you tell yourself. I’m not ready. I’m too late. I’m bad at this. I never follow through. Be careful. You believe what you repeatedly rehearse. Tell better stories. Then prove them through action.
