In continuation of its press release dated 10 May 2026, the National Testing Agency wishes to inform candidates, parents, and members of the public of the following decisions taken in respect of NEET (UG) 2026. NTA had, on 8 May 2026, referred the matters then under consideration to the central agencies for independent verification and necessary action, consistent with its standing commitment to the fair, secure, and credible conduct of the national examinations entrusted to it.

1. On the basis of the inputs subsequently examined by NTA in coordination with the central agencies, and the investigative findings shared by the law enforcement agencies and in order to ensure that there is transparency in the system, the National Testing Agency, with the approval of the Government of India, has decided to cancel the NEET (UG) 2026 examination conducted on 3 May 2026, and to re-conduct the examination on dates that will be notified separately.

The inputs received by NTA, taken together with the findings shared by the law enforcement agencies, established that the present examination process could not be allowed to stand. The re-conducted examination dates, along with the re-issued admit-card schedule, will be communicated through the official channels of the Agency in the coming days.

2. The Government of India has further decided to refer the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation for a comprehensive inquiry into the allegations therein. NTA will extend full cooperation to the Bureau and will provide all materials, records, and assistance the inquiry requires.

3. This decision has been taken in the interest of students and in recognition of the trust on which the national examination system rests. The Agency is conscious that re-conduct will cause real and significant inconvenience to candidates and their families. NTA does not take that consequence lightly. The decision has been taken because the alternative would have caused greater and more lasting damage to that trust.

4. The registration data, candidature, and examination centres opted for in the May 2026 cycle will be carried forward to the re-conducted examination. No fresh registration will be required, and no additional examination fee will be levied. In addition, fees already paid, will be refunded to the students and the exam will be re-conducted using NTA’s internal resources.

5. Further communications, including the re-conducted examination dates and the re-issued admit-card schedule, will be issued through the official channels of the Agency. Candidates and parents are requested to rely only on these official channels and to disregard unverified reports circulating on social media.

Another dark chapter is unfolding in Bangladesh, unleashing the familiar pain of generational trauma.

The brutal lynching of Dipu Chandra Das — a young Hindu factory worker beaten to death by a mob, his body desecrated and set ablaze from a tree — over alleged blasphemy reminds us that the forces of hatred and extremism have not been contained. This horrific act in Mymensingh, echoes the anarchy and atrocities that descended more than fifty years ago.

Religious minorities in Bangladesh — Bengali Hindus, Christians, Buddhists, and others — continue to face targeted violence deeply reminiscent of past pogroms. Reports now document thousands of incidents since the political upheaval of August 2024, with hundreds persisting into 2025: attacks on homes, businesses, temples, and places of worship; murders, sexual assaults, abductions, and forced displacements.

Even as the interim government condemns individual acts and announces arrests, the pattern of persecution persists, fueled by radical elements emboldened in the vacuum of stable governance. Brave Muslims, as they did half a century ago, have shown courage by standing against violent extremists in protecting their neighbours, yet violent mobs too often prevail, spreading fear and uncertainty.

All Bengalis deserve equal protection, citizenship, and freedom from oppression, whether from corrupt authorities of the past or the chaos of rampaging extremist mobs today. No one should suffer unspeakable atrocities simply for their faith. The evil that murdered millions and displaced tens of millions must never be permitted to rise again. In these restless days, I share the profound anxiety felt by Canadian Bengalis whose loved ones remain in harm's way, and call urgently for calm, stability, and the restoration of rule of law during this fragile transition.

I remain deeply grateful to our Conservative Leader, Pierre Poilievre, for his unwavering moral clarity and strength in standing with all Canadian Bengalis. As he has stated: Conservatives stand with the people of Bangladesh in this difficult time. We are horrified by the violence against religious minorities, including Hindus and Christians senselessly targeted by mobs. We condemn all human rights violations and instances of violence against innocent people. We call for democracy, justice for the persecuted, an end to attacks on minorities, and protection ensuring all Bengalis enjoy equal citizenship.

In hours like these, we must call for an immediate end to the pogroms against Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, and all minorities, and for accountability of the Yunus government. We must advocate tirelessly for human rights, religious freedom, and accountability, no matter how uncomfortable it makes those who excuse extremism under the guise of political change, those in the media that fail to reflect reality, and those at the United Nations too obsessed with equivalencies to call out violence and religious extremism.

To the Bengali Hindu community in Canada and around the world: We see you. We hear you. Your resilience in the face of hatred inspires us all. As Hindus here confront rising anti-Hindu incidents even on our own soil, your faith and determination shine as a beacon. 🚨 #BreakingNews: After almost 48 hours of the lynching of Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a press conference clearly stated, they did not find any evidence against Dipu on any blasphemous acts. Dipu Chandra Das worked at a factory in Bhaluka, Mymensingh. He was a poor laborer. One day, a Muslim coworker wanted to punish him over some trivial matter, so in the middle of a crowd he announced that Dipu had made derogatory remarks about the Prophet. That was enough. Frenzied followers of the Prophet pounced on Dipu like hyenas and began to tear him apart. Eventually the police rescued him and took him into custody—meaning Dipu was under police protection.

Dipu told the police what had happened, stated that he was innocent, that he had made no comment whatsoever about the Prophet, and that it was all a conspiracy by that coworker. The police did not go after the coworker. Many among the police harbor a fondness for jihad. Was it in the excess of this jihadist zeal that they threw Dipu back to those fanatics? Or did jihadist militants shove the police aside and take Dipu out of the station? They held a full-blown celebration—beating Dipu, hanging him, burning him—a jihadist festival.

Dipu Chandra Das was the sole breadwinner of his family. With his earnings, his disabled father, mother, wife, and child survived. What will happen to them now? Who will help the relatives? Who will bring the mad murderers to justice? Dipu’s family doesn’t even have the money to flee to India to escape the jihadists’ hands. The poor have no one. They have no country left, not even a religion left.

Dalits in India need to reflect on this:

Dipu Chandra Das, who was lynched and burnt alive by Islamists in Bangladesh, was a Dalit. Almost all victims of such targeted violence in both Bangladesh and Pakistan are Dalits.

Yet, voices that claim to represent Dalits, self-styled Dalit leaders, influencers, and neo-Ambedkarite activists, are largely silent on these atrocities. Their engagement is selective. The focus remains inward, amplifying divisions within Hindu society and encouraging hostility among communities, a strategy that sustains their political relevance, visibility, and influence.

In contrast, the people who consistently raise concern and extend solidarity are ordinary Hindus across castes, who see Dalits not as a political tool but as brothers and sisters facing real persecution beyond India’s borders.

I hope you wake up to notice the pattern.
