When a lie is fact-checked & debunked, a troubling response I see with more regularity is: "well, even if that's not true, you know it's generally true."
Narratives are powerful even when they are lies.
For followers of Jesus, truth & integrity must be non-negotiables.
"As an evangelical Christian who actually believes in the existence of Satan, I agree that we can indeed see the work of the devil at play here, only it’s not on the menu of the Haitian families but rather in the cruelty of those willing to lie about them."https://t.co/AIfVs3frLq
I'm thrilled to announce the Sept 26 release of FOR OUR DAUGHTERS, a documentary film based on the final chapter of JESUS AND JOHN WAYNE.
Featuring courageous & resilient survivors, it shows why their stories matter for all American women.

@hoopersnook So my initial thought was that Jimmy had an operation due to a shooting at the school requiring major surgery to save his life. I'm not even joking.
"Trump has done what no Democrat—not Bill or Hillary Clinton, not Mario Cuomo or John Kerry, not Joe Biden or Barack Obama, not any Democrat—could have done. He has, at the national level, made the Republican Party de facto pro-choice."

@MBurtwrites@sheilagregoire Yes! In addition to the disgusting fact that he's sexualizing a child, saying she's more dangerous than the literal Devil (described in a completely extrabibilical way), his exegesis is pretty terrible. There are many ways to interpret many texts... and he is doing it wrong here.
.@JoeBiden is a patriot. He has selflessly served this Nation with distinction for a half a century, and stepped forward to save it in 2020. We Americans again owe him our deepest thanks and respect for putting the country above all else once again.
Thank you, Mr. President.
Congratulations Kelsey! So dang proud of you!! You are swift as a coursing river, with all the strength of a great typhoon, all the strength of a raging fire, mysterious as the dark side of the moon.

@kkdumez@drantbradley It's jarring to see Butterfield, an English Lit PhD from Ohio State and former tenured professor at Syracuse University, making claims like this. I'm not sure how wide the gap is between English Lit and history but I'd always imagined the scholarly method is somewhat similar?
