hi, are you doomscrolling? It might feel like an act of agency due to the pandemic. Why not use that agency to take care of yourself through a screen break, going to bed early, and/or doing another activity that makes you happy? You still deserve time to rest and recover.
I don't know a single person who works in tech and hasn't seriously thought about quitting and opening up a coffee shop in a small town in the middle of nowhere
We interviewed six Iranians who had worked with the CIA as spies and informants and got caught. A Reuters investigation found CIA negligence likely led to their capture. https://t.co/r7FdkkxSF4
If you’re an hiring in the security or networking space feel free to reply below.
I would love to connect some people who may or may not be looking for a new job this week (not me)
Had a lot of fun with @WiCySorg and @SANSInstitute's BootUp CTF this weekend. This was my first live CTF and I'm really happy with my 1,742 points. Far from the 4000+ point leaders, but I've learned a ton. Massive thanks to the organizers, and looking forward to more!
Impostor syndrome: “I don't know what I'm doing. It's only a matter of time until everyone finds out."
Growth mindset: "I don't know what I'm doing yet. It's only a matter of time until I figure it out."
The highest form of self-confidence is believing in your ability to learn.
How do you build a cybersecurity team and program from scratch? On Defense in Depth, @geoffbelknap, @LinkedIn & I welcome guest @ris12hi, CISO, @MountSinaiNYC to chat starting a cybersecurity department from scratch Thanks to sponsor @tines_io. https://t.co/AWuIWCmz3N @CISOseries
#Ransomware has become a lucrative criminal ecosystem over the last four years. Read our “Ransomware Ecosystem” report to explore the key players, the tactics they use and how to protect your networks. #TenableResearch https://t.co/erFQfX5PTZ
If you’re active on Twitter and work at a company doing infosec, I recommend you mix up what technologies you post about. It’s very easy to determine what tech stack is at a company by scraping what vulns and complaints you make. Throw in other products you don’t use sometimes.

Thinking of starting a twitter account to crowdsource and alert when #infosec / cybersec conference talks land on youtube / become available online. Does that already exist? Would that be helpful?
@AppSecEngineer You do not need any certs to get into AppSec and you absolutely do not need CISSP. Learning to code, understanding how applications work and what makes them vulnerable is much more important. If you do want a cert, Sec+ is probably a good one to start. https://t.co/I0vnPhFCml
@jackie_ore It's super important for any team to have people like you to keep up the energy. If they can't feel excited or energized about work, they might be burned out and in need of some time off.
@gabsmashh Best: tote bags, microfiber cloths, screen cleaners, quality stationaries
Most unique was @Cygna_Labs giving our pieces of the Berlin Wall at last week's #EIC2022
