✨Excited to share that our Nanodomain paper is finally published on @NatureNano! We probed the internal organization of FUS #condensate via #SingleMolecule tracking and found nanodomains that constrain the protein and #RNA diffusion and thus tune local biochemistry. Repositioning of nanodomains towards condensate periphery might seed and thus explain aging-induced protein fibrillation. Nanodomain properties are regulated by guest molecules, including small-molecule ALS drugs, even at very low concentration. Taken together, this #research shows that the nanoscopic world inside a condensate is vivid, and the intra-condensate dynamics could elucidate foundational aspects of condensate biology/pathology.

Researchers with @NilsWalterLab have developed an AI model that discovers unique molecule behaviors in fluorescence microscopy. The model could soon be scaled to follow particles, wild animals or even the trajectory of asteroids through our solar system. https://t.co/akjWhke451

✨Another paper just out at @JMolBiol (co-first with our talented Emily Sumrall again!) @NilsWalterLab @UMBiophys In short, we realized that tethering is critical to correctly measure sub-diffusion within a condensate via #SingleMolecule tracking, especially for long RNAs. This work laid the foundation for our discovery of nanodomains within FUS condensates (https://t.co/tcRvg9yO3z).
