Ret. lawyer, very concerned re the future we leave our children. PR born & raised, union member &progressive Democrat. 1st voted 47 yrs ago &always since then.
NPR receives $2-3M/year in federal funding.
PBS receives $80-85M.
The military-themed birthday parade Trump is throwing himself will cost taxpayers $92M.
We’re told cutting news and kids programming to fund an authoritarian birthday bash somehow “makes America great again”
Let's face it, President Musk's goal is not to cut the deficit, or reduce waste, or even save money.
It's to eliminate oversight so he can do whatever he wants. This is a battle against kleptocracy.
Elon Musk, the richest guy in the world, is going after USAID, which feeds the poorest people in the world.
Next, he’ll go after the programs that impact you: Medicaid, Medicare, community health centers, Pell Grants, affordable housing.
We can stop him.
The Tuskegee Airmen were far more than a diversity and inclusion initiative; they were a testament to excellence and determination in the face of systemic racism. These men were not included in the U.S. military as a gesture of equity—they had to fight for the opportunity to prove themselves as some of the most highly qualified and skilled pilots in history. Under the oppressive Jim Crow laws, they underwent rigorous training at Tuskegee Army Air Field, earning their wings not because they were given a seat at the table but because they demanded it through merit and perseverance. Their service was not about representation for its own sake but about breaking barriers through undeniable skill and performance. These brave men changed the trajectory of our nation not by fulfilling quotas, but by excelling in their missions and demonstrating their value on and off the battlefield. @BlackNoChaser@BeBlackNoChaser
You can't erase our history. It's not just Black history it's also American history. My Great-uncle was Captain Albert Whiteside Jr an original Tuskegee Airmen. When I was a child I got to talk to him in person. People should learn about the Tuskegee Airmen.
SAY IT LOUDER! Senator and educator from Hawaii Brian Schatz has hit the nail on the head! It’s never been about the price of eggs or gas; it’s about how Americans are being gaslit!
While “Trump and his billionaire friends are ripping us off,” too many are blind to the real issue. Time to wake up and hold the powerful accountable!
We, the daughters and sons of Tuskegee Airmen will continue to teach their important role in our collective history. Trump's "order" is racist trash. 🗑️
My grandfather was one of the original five Tuskegee airmen, Charles DeBow, and my youngest son is named after his co-pilot. They fought for equal rights and for all of America in WWII when many worked to undermine their efforts. To erase their legacy is beyond unconscionable.
Our government & institutions are in desperate need of more transparency and accountability, not less. Trump’s illegal firing of more than a dozen Inspectors General will allow government corruption & abuse to go uninhibited. Congress must act to ensure power is held accountable.
Democrats, don’t coddle him, don’t flatter him, don’t laugh at him, don’t appease him, don’t try to work with him. OPPOSE him. He’s a cruel, divisive, dishonest, lawless authoritarian. OPPOSE him. That’s all. Call him out for the un-American threat he is. Do it. Every day. Grow a spine. OPPOSE him.
This is Inspector General Mike Ware, who was just fired by Donald Trump. He just sent a blistering letter to Trump slamming him for multiple federal laws by firing him and his colleagues across the federal government.
RETWEET if you stand with Ware against Trump!
BREAKING — Inspectors General are NOT leaving, stating Trump’s attempted firings broke the law
Also: Chuck Grassley, Republican Senator from Iowa, said Trump broke law requiring 30 days notice to Congress and detailed reasons for firing IGs
KEEP STANDING YOUR GROUND!
The mass firing of Inspectors General by the Trump Administration without grounds and advance notice to Congress is a clear violation of the law.
But, of course, we know the cause: Trump wants no accountability for malfeasance in office.
He is refilling the swamp.
Late last night, Trump fired the independent inspectors general of at least 12 federal agencies.
Inspectors general are tasked with rooting out fraud, abuse, and corruption.
Trump wants loyalists in these positions — a key tenant of Project 2025.
Keep paying attention.
