@bonill07 Proud of these students for standing up for truth. You can’t begin to fix a problem if those in power put a gag order on speaking and teaching the truth. DeSantis is shameful. #standforfreedomfl
This is outrageous. After 18 months of being frontline and in danger of dying from Covid, now the community turns on and threatens us?! Unacceptable, disheartening, irresponsible, and infuriating!
We are officially back to getting crushed by #COVID, and for #pediatricians this wave feels *worse* in many ways. And as a pediatric hospitalist who has been a front-line COVID doctor for the entire pandemic, I’m going to share what I’ve seen the last 8 days on service. 1/
Absolutely. And if you’re in a position of power (like a principal), you must call out the oppressive language/content to ensure all students and participants in a racist discussion understand why it was racist and learn how to do better. That is the Antiracist action.
Here is my full statement about my decision to decline tenure at UNC Chapel Hill and instead accept the inaugural Knight Chair in Race and Reporting at @HowardU.
We talk about accountability. Let’s hold this woman, school, and community accountable for their racist, hurtful, and violent actions. This woman has no place near children.
10yo Fredarico was attacked by the adults whose job it is to keep him safe. He was verbally assaulted by his school bus driver, fellow students, and had his life put at risk when his principal, Dr. York (pictured)called the police on him, choked him, and called him “a savage.”
Incarcerated patients or those in custody deserve to have health care and vaccinations at least on par with the community (arguably prioritized due to close quarters). Do better New Jersey!
Just learned today that the official policy of @UnivHospNewark is that although we are offering covid vax to all adult ED patients at discharge, patients in custody are not allowed in the vaccine clinic. Admin claims this was cleared with the state and the CDC. /1
Hello Black America! Black health care workers across the country and I hear your questions and concerns about the COVID vaccines and we're bringing the information right to you. It's time for us to have a conversation Between Us About Us. Watch and share now! #BetweenUsAboutUs
@TiffanyHaddish Doxxing Black physicians and saying we are getting paid to trick people is 1. Bullying and 2. Not the truth.
Bad enough we have to fight racism in medicine with our colleagues then be attacked by our own. It's too much.
We are a group of students of the inaugural class of the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine demanding justice for Dr. Aysha H. Khoury. For context, Dr. Khoury has publicly shared her story: https://t.co/23rQVStRE4 (1/10)
@StudentsofKP 100% agree with your thread. The lack of clear policy and process, the siloing, all in retaliation for her doing what she was asked to do is outrageous. It’s time for them to remedy this now with reparations. The quality of the SOM applicants will suffer in this atmosphere.
@rafaellalitvin@choo_ek@tressiemcphd Homegoing profoundly moved me. In my top 3 books of all time. I’ll bet @choo_ek has read it, but if not, it is mandatory. And best on paper, to flip to genealogy chart when you need.
#AES2019 great sessions but really inadequate space and setup of convention center rooms—limited seating, no simulcast to overflow rooms, and lowest third of screens not visible in the back. Please address this next year.
#AES2019 increased risk of Suicide related behaviors in Veterans with either epilepsy or conversion disorder. Great presentation on the walking tour, Dr. Pugh
