@CutMyTaxUK HMRC always about 'maximum tax' despite removing from objectives.
See #LoanChargeScandal where now taxing victims on promoters fees, i.e. MONEY NOT EVEN RECEIVED!!
@AngelaRayner 67000 #LoanCharge victims also set out to pay the correct amount of #tax. Took reasonable care and acted in good faith, based on the expert advice they received. However, unlike you #HMRC has not accepted this. Resulting in Mental health issues, Suicides, Bankruptcies.
@Keir_Starmer I loaned the Labour party my vote when you made promises about resolving the #loanchargescandal. You broke your promises and suffered the consequences. The sooner you and other parties understand this fully, the better. We're fed up with it all.
@BBCNews James Murray - Promised the earth to #LoanChargeScandal "victims of mis-selling" in opposition, calling for independent review.
In goverment delivered #McCannReview to 'encourage' victims to pay up, lead by ex HMRC Inspector.
- Independent? ❌
- Review of Loan Charge ❌
@CutMyTaxUK@loanchargeprey 24 hour turnaround for a closure decision from HMRC!
What a slap in the face for
#loancharge victims who’ve been waiting YEARS for closure, 11 of them took their lives because the stress was too much.
Rayner’s party promised to draw a line under this then broke it!
Sickened.
The results of the local elections tell me that people are fed up of politicians who don't keep their promises. I hope that the @UKLabour especially reflect on the promises they have broken to the electorate as a whole as well as to many thousands of #loanchargescandal victims.
@RedHawkWinter@coventry_robert@IainDale@LBC 11 poor souls apparently died for nothing but a rushed, improvised policy never thought out or impact analysed. Too bad that despite claiming the high ground, HMRC have run interference with the intent of Parliament to resolve this mess through several #LoanChargr reviews.
@JAldious Suicides, divorce, strokes, heart attacks, familial estrangement, job loss....I've heard many stories over the past 7 years...it's heartbreaking. No wonder that even those who report on it find it stressful and upsetting.
The #LoanCharge has been a profound failure. As well as 11 suicides it has cost £186 million since it came into force in 2019. In that time HMRC only achieved 800 settlements with individuals totalling £44m. We’ve written to @CommonsPAC urging an inquiry.

@Brainscan205@yorkshirepost Ex-HMRC senior official McCann 'independent' (lol) #LoanCharge Review was supposedly tasked with finding out and removing the barriers to settlement. Many of which were caused by weaponised HMRC processes (years of delays and aforementioned maximised liabilities). All ignored...
