Same foot, same hand, violent strike, and separation will set up the next move. Great technique. Especially if the OL doesn't give you hands right away. I call it pushing the button. Give them a punch and make them give you their hands so you can work the next move. #Technical
📢 Drill of the Day:
Transition 1v1
Defense and offense exchange 3 passes. On the 3rd pass, defender drops back, offense attacks the catch, and it’s live 1v1 in transition.

📢 Drill Of The Day:
1v2 React & Rip 🪑🏀
Defender behind the chair starts by choosing a side.
Offensive player reacts, rips opposite, and attacks the solo defender while the help defender fights around the chair.
🔑
Get creative on finishes. Defend Hard.

No hands. No Chance. 💥
🏈 Easy drill to use for all positions on the defensive side of the ball.
•Find a line.
•Pick your move.
•Work both sides.
•Incorporate the finish
🔥Coaching Point🔥
When they knock your hands down. Replace fast and make them have to finish with their Rip while reaching for that QB.
(Hump / Go-Move are great to work in on the finish)
Over emphasize “Stay Tight”

Defensive linemen at the high school level, this is important to understand.
One of the biggest parts of pass rushing is recognizing the offensive lineman’s pass set and understanding how he is trying to position and control you in pass protection.
Instead of simply rushing directly into the blocker, learn to identify how the offensive lineman is setting you up and how you can counter it.
The three primary pass sets defensive linemen will commonly see are:
✅ Vertical Set
✅ Angle Set
✅ Jump Set
Understanding these pass sets can help defensive linemen improve their pass rush plan, counter moves, leverage, and overall football IQ.
Coaches, feel free to share this with your players.
