@ZaneHydrangea I guess it depends how well-funded the research groups are and who is behind them. It's so hard to tell. I get lots of free Amazon gift card offers too, but I believe it's for being an "older consumer" lol. They are always looking at every possible demographic.

I wish Netflix and/or "Smart TVs" had an option to shutoff laugh tracks. I think if you have to clue in viewers to what lines are supposed to be funny you already have an issue. Plus, it's cheezy & out-of-date, especially for newly produced shows.

@eachus I get it when filmed in front a live audience, that's totally cool because it's natural (although I know there was a time they cued the audience using signs, yuck!) I attempted to watch an original Netflix comedy tonight and I was amazed they had a laugh track. I just couldn't.
