Casey’s General Stores (@caseysgenstore) is headquartered in Ankeny, Iowa. Starbucks is headquartered in Seattle, Washington.
So why isn’t @jdunwell, a member of the Iowa House (District 38), supporting an Iowa company that employs thousands of hardworking Iowans when there’s a Casey’s literally next door to the Starbucks?
Rep. Dumwell is a vocal supporter of @ZachLahn, who likes to remind us that, “Local ownership and stewardship matter—those who live here care most about our communities.”
Apparently that principle applies right up until it’s time to buy a cup of coffee.
If local ownership really matters, supporting an Iowa-based company should be the easiest decision in the world. Instead, it feels like a lot of campaign talking points designed to sound good in a speech but disappear in practice.
Actions speak louder than slogans.
My guy. One of you is currently visiting all 99 Iowa counties and one of you hasn’t been seen in Iowa since the primary. If anyone is neglecting Iowa citizens it’s you my dawg.
How can you consistently be so tone deaf? It’s actually impressive.
Utterly stupid, endorsing against Brown.
Brown is not only by far the most progressive person who could possibly win that seat, he's also been very supportive of labor and unions literally his entire career.

In 2020, Mary Alford became Alachua County's first openly LGBT county commissioner. She easily won both the primary and general election.
In the general she outperformed Biden by 1%, not receiving any major anti-gay backlash at the polls #flapol
Pennsylvania State Rep. Frank Burns is a fascinating outlier in today's politics. A conservative Democrat from a solidly red district Burns defies the odds every cycle. He is the only Democrat who wins this district.
@AustinHoney30@Weasel9100 which is why it’s essential that they lose, so that the leadership can get its act together
and i say this as someone who strongly believes in capitalism and disagrees with a lot of what darializa says but the entitlement these mfs have while they do next to nothing is insane
@RepDianaDeGette The way women tear apart other women, is just disgusting to watch. I can't believe you contribute. You can go fuck yourself for the Hasan post on your Facebook. I'm not here to defend him, but using him against your opponent is Fox News shit.
Here's Denver's "progressive" Congresswoman running unbelievably racist ads against her challenger, Melat Kiros.
This Trump-level hate is unwelcome in Denver. And we're certainly not going to let a bigot represent us in Congress any longer.
Day 22 #MappingPride🌈
In 2011, Liechtenstein, a micro-nation on the Swiss border, overwhelmigly approved a Domestic Partnership registry. This was a major breakthrough for a 75% Catholic community.
In 2024, Liechtenstein's parliament legalized same-sex marriage 24 to 1.
I was in northern MI last week, and stayed in Emmet County. Trump won it by 11 points, but the main city of Petoskey went for Harris, along with Harbor Springs and Cross Village. As the Cherry Coast region shifts left, Emmet will become more competitive #ElectionTwitter
To the surprise of nobody... enjoy the 2002 House Election in AZ-05 by precinct!
This is actually a really impressive performance looking back now. Hayworth swept Scottsdale, Mesa, and Chandler. He fell short in two Phoenix precincts (Papago Park) and Tempe.
SCOOP: Sen. Ruben Gallego repeatedly used campaign cash to fund luxury outings with his wife and to care for his children since launching his campaign for Senate in 2023, including attending the Super Bowl using a joint campaign account with Eric Swalwell.

Since RCV started, there haven't been many high-profile examples of contests where it mattered in the count—where the winner trailed among first preferences.
Until suddenly it happened TWICE in Maine last night.
