Had the privilege to be in a higher Physics class today and witness high quality learning and teaching. A delight to talk to such enthusiastic and engaged young people. Thanks for having us @PortGlasgowHS@wp_education@WP_IOC#KeepCollaborating
@msmtchnk I felt every single word of this post! I feel similar……almost 20 years in. I don’t have any answers though as I am still searching for them myself x
Great day learning and thinking about how to incorporate metacognition and creativity into lessons to improve the experiences and outcomes of our learners 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
These days are why so many of the teachers who take part in our Masters’ level IOC programme look at different aspects of metacognition and creativity in their own practice. It’s by teachers for teachers. Business as usual.

Miss Kelly's S3 physics class had a fantastic time @gsc1 Newton Flight Academy. Pupils demonstrated excellent leadership and problem solving skills. ✈️ @PortGlasgowHS@LearnGSC#STEM#physics
New pupil booklets used this week to help ‘standardise the format’
More efficient observations ✅
Easier to spot common errors ✅
Improved feedback ✅
Pupils left in flow for longer ✅

I know I’m late to the party but I’m finishing Monday with tea and a new book. Only made it to the preface and felt so overwhelmed I had to pause. Ready to start slowly pulling off some bandages 🙌🏻
After @adamboxer1 saying he doesn’t rate PowerPoint I decided to reduce the info on PP for this weeks lessons and instead use my white board to build the diagram/information while I spoke. Game changer. Another one of those wtf have I been doing moments 🤷🏽♀️😂
Thoughts on doing an observed lesson for interview that doesn’t include an experiment? School have asked for a L4 Forces/Newton’sLaws lesson for a new S3 class and I think it’s best to introduce key terms first like balanced/unbalanced and free body diagrams b4 doing a practical?
