Semex stand firmly beside farmers!
"Today we urge Government to listen to the concerns of farmers and their representatives and actively work with them to find workable solutions. After all, this industry and the nation's food security is what's at risk", Owain Harries, Semex
This is a good read.
As a farmer with certain opportunities I have been fortunate to travel the globe. This article is very relatable for me.
Opinions wouldn't be as strong if individuals experienced other countries and cultures for themselves.

Thanks Janan and @NormMcN for the tour of the beautiful new Proof Line Farm business yesterday. What a great spot and an amazing next step in the McNaughton family’s long dairy history. Well done!
Here is George Clooney response after Trump accused him of being a "Hollywood elite."
"Here’s the thing: I grew up in Kentucky. I sold insurance door-to-door. I sold ladies’ shoes. I worked at an all-night liquor store. I would buy suits that were too big and too long and cut the bottom of the pants off to make ties so I’d have a tie to go on job interviews. I grew up understanding what it was like to not have health insurance for eight years.
So this idea that I’m somehow the “Hollywood elite” and this guy who takes a shit in a gold toilet is somehow the man of the people is laughable.
People in Hollywood, for the most part, are people from the Midwest who moved to Hollywood to have a career. So this idea of “coastal elites” living in a bubble is ridiculous. Who lives in a bigger bubble?
He lives in a gold tower and has twelve people in his company. He doesn’t run a corporation of hundreds of thousands of people he employs and takes care of. He ran a company of twelve people!
When you direct a film you have seven different unions all wanting different things, you have to find consensus with all of them, and you have to get them moving in the same direction.
He’s never had to do any of that kind of stuff. I just look at it and I laugh when I see him say “Hollywood elite.” Hollywood elite? I don’t have a star on Hollywood Boulevard, Donald Trump has a star on Hollywood Boulevard! Fuck you!"

@crreesor I used to be a critic of supply management, but I changed my mind, I believe I was very wrong. I read the piece earlier and didn’t post it. We’ve got some issues, but producing dairy, chickens and eggs like I produce corn doesn’t work. Exports are always about cheap
A week ago I was on the worst flight I’ve ever been. Not quite a news story but it felt close to one. I had a flight booked into Denver yesterday and I thought I was okay until I stepped foot into the airport and I froze. It took every ounce of courage I could find to get on my flight. What was suppose to be a 4 hour flight turned into an over 5 hour as we were reverted around multiple storms and actually came into Denver from the west (from the Bahamas). The pilots were beyond incredible and upon exiting the cabin I gave the purser a note to hand to the cockpit-unsigned-to thank them for the excellent job. I was walking down the concourse heading to baggage claim and I heard yelling behind me. I turned around and came face to face with the Captain- and she held up a note and asked if I wrote it. I said I had. Tears filled her eyes and she said it meant the world to her. We talked for a couple minutes both of us getting emotional then went on our ways. It was such a great reminder to take a second and remember to show a little gratitude. We never know what others may be going through
If you need a roll of drainage tile for a project after wheat this year. This coil is up for auction tomorrow night at the Ilderton Fair annual beef dinner at Ilderton Arena. Come and bid to turn it into cash for the fair board.
Had to chuckle at this line in a Globe and Mail article on the Ontario gov't backing off the idea of 3 severances per farm.
The fact @john_vanthof notes farm groups rarely agree on anything is very true.
But since this worked so well, maybe we should do it more often 🤔
Janet Harrop @Harrcroft did a great job speaking to #OntAg issues surrounding Bill 97 and proposed changes to the PPS, in front of @wellingtncounty Council… lots of great comments and questions from councillors. It is clear that #AgricultureMatters in Wellington County!
