@karlstefanovic@elonmusk The same people who complain about Elon Musk willingly send people into Elon's arms, time and time again. People make enemies for no rational reason. You can't cut out a man's tongue and prove him a liar.
@AngryJoeShow@nerdrotic What Milly said wasn't in passing, it was repeated. She said queerness wasn't something she explored, but then immediately panders to the interviewer because it's pride month. It's a change to her sexuality for what reason? How does this improve the character and story?
@salltweets Imagine saying none of this anti-rape nonsense affects my daily life in any way I can perceive. I did the work. I'm no longer a victim. Why should I advocate against rape now? This is what a lack of empathy looks like.
I unironically would absolutely watch a series like this. Imagine a weekly Aussie show where you hire a dodgy contractor with a budget to pour a driveway with no experience. Each week its just something else that's fucked. Garn.
@marycatedelvey Being Asexual means you have no sex hormones in your body. Sexual desire/drive derives from sex hormones you form at puberty. Such a ridiculous statement.
Can you imagine Star Trek today making this scene?
Data: Objection Your Honour. In the year 2036, the new United Nations declared no earth citizen can be made to answer for the crimes of his race or fourbearers.
Star Trek The Next Generation Season 1 Episode 1.
Strange, because the next generation just affirmed my right-wing beliefs. You had a future of a unified humanity that had moved past tribalism and identity politics. Meritocracy, excellence, was valued in the Federation above all. A humanity that wasn't suicidally empathetic. The very first episode, humanity was put on trial for it's crimes by Q. What does Picard do? He defends humanity while acknowledging its faults. Mentioning that the UN in 2036, declared that humanity was not guilty for the sins of the father. Can you imagine Star Trek today doing that?
In 007 First Light, after Mi6 fails at stopping 009 in bombing a hotel resulting in an unknown death toll. Bond arrives back at HQ to find the supposed "good guys", Mi6 media staff, mock outlandish political dog whistling, but are the ones reveling in peddling propaganda they mock! There is no veneer of "for the sake of national security with have to lie". Its "you idiots believe the mainstream story". These kinds of people are responsible for undermining public trust in government. There is no accountability, despite Mi6 being the ones directly incompetent in bringing in one guy from the cold! Who they were prepared for. Mi6 not taking accountability is par for the course but how exactly is that relatable for the player that the UK government so brazenly and gleefully lies? This is no different than a fear mongering politician. Yet Mi6 will still act self-righteous.
