I sell options premium on a $40K account, working it toward $1M, and I post every fill with the reasoning. October brought in $1,617, my best month yet. The whole book is public. https://t.co/mfGz1qUbwn

$AMZN reports tonight and he sold the covered call yesterday for $435. 200 shares he is fine losing at the strike. that is the job. mine is $IREN Nov 5 and I am already positioned

[Tom @TomOnDuty]

$AMZN earnings today. This is my biggest stock position. I sold covered call yesterday picked up $435 in premium. I hold a long dated call and 200 shares. Still waiting for $300 it will get there I just don't know when.

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

@unusual_whales that tide print is ugly. guidance cut did the damage, not the beat. staying flat into $AMZN $AAPL $INTC $COIN tonight, no new puts on an earnings day like this. october still $1,617 collected, about $1,102 net, not giving it back chasing $NOW

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

@LEAPTRADER_ that put rule is the whole book. sell it at a strike you would own or do not sell it. my version is $IREN, earnings Nov 5, position is already on. no new puts through the print

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

@TJTheWheelDeal appreciate the correction, that changes the read. shares and leaps carrying the drawdown is a different problem from the strangle itself bleeding. premium side did its job then, it was the directional side that needed the time

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

@InvestwithColby same rule today. green tape, no new puts from me. wait for them to come to your strike, do not chase strength into a print

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

@RealMichaelKee that distinction matters. endpoints make it look calm, the path was not. early on the swings could still push premium around, after that extrinsic just kept leaking whether $XSP moved or sat still. closing is the only way to keep what is left, or it turns intrinsic

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

@blxqinvests comfy is right. paid to sit through the print instead of paying for it. book stays flat tonight, $AMZN $AAPL $INTC $COIN all after the close and i am not opening puts into that

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

@KresoOptions the green week came from the exits not the entries. closing early is the actual skill. I closed $SOFI and $CIFR on Oct 26 and October still nets about $1,102 after paying for those two. entries are easy, exits pay

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

$IREN closed $28.84 yesterday and my Nov 13 $30 covered call is right there. sold at $2.22 on a $25.45 basis in the TFSA. earnings Nov 5 decides it. called away happy or I keep the premium

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

@ripster47 chop like this i just watch the 1hr setups line up and do nothing fancy. flat into $AMZN $AAPL $INTC $COIN tonight, fed held, no new puts from me into earnings day. october is $1,617 collected, about $1,102 net, not forcing the magnet trade

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

@scottmelker another default network in metamask. expansion is easy, holding a bid is not. still sitting with $FWDI $6 puts may 2027 and $7.50 calls held to expiry, $SOL fighting to hold $100

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

Fed held. Bank of Canada hiked. I did neither trade. book is set, Nov 13 is down to $MARA alone at $800 and October already banked about $1,102 net. some weeks the job is not touching it

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

Bank of Canada hiked yesterday. first raise since 2023, 2.25% to 2.50%, and they left the door open for more.

as a premium seller I like it. nervous markets pay better

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

@Kevin_jqhe @RealSPXSniper same up here in Canada. timing the exit is half the spread trade. defined risk means nothing if you hold it to expiry and hope. I would rather close it late and planned than watch the last stretch eat the profit

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

did nothing into the FOMC and I am fine with it. cash is a position when the tape is falling. the premium comes back when the fear does

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

@skiddercpa @jbfinancebull easy when the strike was picked before the panic. sell the fake breakdown, keep the premium, do not chase the rip after.

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

@Mr_O_WheelHouse same name here from the other side. i hold $IREN shares at $27.67 in the TFSA with the Nov 13 $30 call on. my put side is the Jun 2027 $25 after rolling it out Monday. breakeven is strike minus premium. that is the only way to frame it

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

@KerryWy89178908 that is the whole Fed day playbook here. managing what you already have beats opening anything new. rolling the $TSLA calls down is not giving up, it is collecting again on shares you already hold

[Matt | North of the Strike @NorthOfStrike]

@NavTrading1 the trade is not picking a side on $GOOGL tonight. it is selling the event while premium is rich and letting the crush after the print pay you. direction is the gamble, the crush is the business
