My hottest take of 2024: this election is going to be the most boring one of my life. You have two unlikeable old men who are barely going to campaign/talk to the press and probably won’t even debate. By Election Day, it’s probably going to look exactly the same as 2020
"There are some folks in DeSantis' orbit... who are acknowledging privately that, 'Hey! Well, Trump could choke on a cheeseburger.'"
Campaign insider @MarcACaputo tells @BillyCorben that you can't stick a fork in Governor Meatball just yet. #BecauseMiami

I understand partisanship and certain issues are deal breakers for people, but our country would be so much better off if people like James Talarico never lose to people like Ken Paxton
This is probably true but this is also where a liberal media works against Democrats. The media agree with/understand most conservative policy arguments, so in an attempt to seem fair, they obsess over process stories
Over the years, I’ve noticed that Democratic candidates are more often the targets of staff-driven stories about how they’re tough or mean bosses
Does that mean the party, compared to the GOP, has more fragile, sensitive or whiney staffers?
How has this man had a successful career in politics? Beyond just being a terrible human being, he is also apparently one of the least charismatic people on earth
Abdul El-Sayed: “There are 3M people who listen to Hasan. I want to offer them a pathway into an electoral movement where rather than sit outside the electoral system, they see a pathway around the things they agree with that he says that I agree with and a pathway that disavows the things that I disagree with. I’m glad to be on your show, but I’m not here to talk to you. I’m here to talk to the people you’re talking to”
Stephen A. Smith: “I gotta confess to you: that’s a damn good answer!”
@Timodc I know you’re defending a friend but this completely undermines your argument you used to defend Platner. Is the Maine senate race crucial to defend democracy because Susan Collins is enabling fascism” or “she has no real impact”
@SarahLongwell25@Timodc This tweet is totally misleading. By no means is this article an endorsement of Trump’s stupid insults-he’s basically saying every other politician’s attempt at is lame and they should stop trying
A very important math lesson for what is basically every political person I follow: If a model says there's a 95% chance X is going to happen, that is not the equivalent of saying "X is going to happen 100% of the time..."
Yesterday Kalshi priced the Wisconsin Democratic Primary at 95–5. The 5% candidate won.
Before the "prediction markets got it wrong" headlines roll in: a 5% probability doesn't mean it won't happen. It means it should happen 1 in 20 times. If 5% candidates never won, the markets would be broken.
The Washington Post analyzed prediction market calibration on hundreds of primary races — here's what they found:
@Lis_Smith If you're arguing "there's not a lot of news value on reporting on who is favored to win an election," I think thats reasonable. If you're arguing "prediction markets are not helpful in saying who will win an election," that is just factually incorrect.

Piker is an ignorant douchebag but this is stupid. Conservatives correctly complained when some of their more provocative speakers were canceled from college and it shouldn’t start happening to the left
BREAKING: University of Washington cancels Hasan Piker event
"It was determined that the process for organizing this event did not meet the necessary level of rigor for University-hosted events in the Speaker Series."
