Parody account of Victoria's Environment Departments Conservation Regulator, ensuring forest conservation is kept in check. We are currently investigating.
"The budget cuts will hit the EPA’s enforcement division, including the legal department that runs prosecutions," seriously?? Whats the point of an EPA that has limited prosecution abilities @LilyDAmbrosioMP ? Just there to look good...
Reporting Greater Glider sightings to the Conservation Regulator? We have drafted guidelines to ensure everyone is clear on what info is required and the protections that may be put in place.
The guidelines are open on https://t.co/FTf0iu1Zen for public feedback until June 14.
.@VicForests won't tell us which one of their staff is a criminal. It's a mystery. One that may never be solved. In other news... campfires & reptile trafficking!
If you have information about timber harvesting at the Glanworth coupe, including information about any contractor(s) who may have been operating during this time, please contact [email protected]
@pheelthy@hocking_c@ConservationReg@VicForest Yet here's the head of the OCR, Kate Gavens, giving evidence that she has the powers to do what is necessary. What a clowncar this organisation is.
We are out in force, proactively inspecting forestry coupes, and have inspected 40 coupes since July – this exceeds our target of 30 for the year.
We have also assessed 54 reports of non-compliance. Proactive coupe inspections ensure important forest values are protected.
In addition to spending millions on our website & re brand, you will no longer be able to see where or when we find threatened species. We also can't tell you about any of the old growth we haven't protected. Or audit reports or results of coupe inspections. Or anything really.
Check out our new website at https://t.co/wchZMZWQmj!
We are committed to being transparent and making sure information about the law and how we regulate it is easy to access. Our new website is just one way we are delivering on that ✅
During the survey if you make two clock-wise turns at any point, these must be recorded. All reports made while the moon is in Taurus will be invalid. If you walk 250m in the direction of the Glider, but your spotlight flickers, repeat survey efforts 10 times.

@ConservationReg We also asked our friends VicForests very nicely to stop logging in East Gippsland because they're probably breaking the law. They haven't stopped yet, but we'll keep asking.
@OCR_Chief Before, during, and after logging, we stand with the logging industry every step of the way to make sure they get the green light to bulldoze wildlife habitat.
#Teamwork#ConservationRegulated
@OCR_Chief We didn't find any animals in the area after logging, and it's no longer suitable habitat for wildlife. This is in line with our policy to work with the logging industry so they can keep cutting down trees. #ConservationRegulated
@JennyCo83740508 Hi Jenny, the Conservation Regulator received a number of reports alleging breaches of protections for the Tree Geebung in the Central Highlands. CR has conducted assessments of the information provided by the community and has concluded no breaches of the law occurred. (Pt 1)
@JennyCo83740508 (Pt 2) To report alleged breaches of timber harvesting, a threatened species or other forest values that require protection, email [email protected]
But don't worry, we will make sure that logging won't be impacted by these frogs by not protecting the area where they've been found. #ConservationRegulated
The vulnerable Giant Burrowing Frog has been discovered during forest protection surveys for the first time since the 2019/20 bushfires.
Rare breeding grounds with almost 330 tadpoles, as well as some adults, were found in East Gippsland!

We won't however be rehabilitating this Ash forest near Swifts Creek logged by @VicForestsComms a few years ago. We all make mistakes & we think they've learned their lesson so we won't be taking regulatory action.
Our Mountain and Alpine Ash forests were devasted after the 2019/20 bushfires. This is why we re-seeded 11,500 hectares over forest with 4.5 tonnes of seeds. To ensure our forests future, we’re now collecting 7.5T of seed to be ‘banked’ for future forest restoration efforts.
Here at the Environment Department we care deeply about the impact these endangered frogs have on logging. But don't worry, the protection zones for these frogs don't have to be around an actual sighting, so logging can continue unchallenged. #ConservationRegulated

Conservation regulation success story! Roadworks have been approved through 10 critically endangered Leadbeater's Possum buffers just in the last 6 months! We're hoping to increase this number by the end of the year.
What if, and hear me out, what if our response to losing our FSC certification was to get the annoying directors from FSC Australia REMOVED?
