Welcome to the Nottingham Ideas Lab! This is the space where creativity and local innovation meet. To kick things off, we are sharing our inaugural presentation. Watch it here and let us know your thoughts: https://t.co/hmqWceflIs #Nottingham#AIVisualisation#NottinghamIdeasLab
@Battlemuch4WW Hi Steve, agree on your points. We did a scheme in the thread below which covers an idea for hosting the finals of the Nottingham Open in OMS, weโd love to see that kept as an option for events in the future and factored into the design ๐ค๐ผโฌ๏ธ๐งต

Introducing a concept for the future of British tennis:
THE ROYAL OPEN NOTTINGHAM.
A prestigious partner event to Wimbledon.
Royal Patronage.
Global attention.
But accessible to everyone.
A tournament that puts Nottingham back on the world stage ๐
@Isaacsut05@OliverPridmore Some lovely ideas in here, many of which would ease the concerns around dispersing such a large quantum of fans post match and indeed during the arrival process
Following the publication of @OliverPridmore's article yesterday regarding the City Ground planning process, here is a detailed look at our proposal: Via Garibaldi. Rather than settling for a functional footbridge to satisfy a planning condition, Nottingham should be ambitious ๐งต
@TrickyInExile@Chardgrills@Battlemuch4WW Thank you Adrian, yes many cities outside the SE and London do struggle to get enough momentum behind large scale projects such as this. But hereโs hoping we are able to get the right will behind the ideas to make them a reality ๐
@petermblackburn@mattforde Tremendously kind words Pete, thank you. I am hoping to present it to them, alongside the benefits beyond the bridge itself, in just a few weeks. Really hoping we are able to get some traction behind a few of the ideas ๐ค๐ผ๐
@AJPendleton The tram element could be funded using infrastructure settlements from a number of pots, as it ticks a wave of boxes. The real economic benefit would be taking it on into WB via a number of possible routes, including the former GCR alignments or via Radcliffe Rd & Bridgford Rd
@forestfocuspod@MattDavies_FF@mattforde Really enjoyed listening to @mattforde discussing Nottinghamโs potential. Completely agree with the sentiments raised on the pod, we have a wonderful city and it has huge potential. Hopefully some of your collective ideas are delivered longer term ๐๐ค๐ผ
@Trents88 There is already a line safeguarded in Nottingham City Councilโs Waterside SPD, but no costs that would be reliable enough to go from. Light rail is not cheap so likely to be at the very least tens of millions. But anything good usually costs a lot of money these days
@AJPendleton I suspect at least Phase 01 of the scheme will need to be delivered in some form to unlock the ground redevelopment. The sites Iโve suggested seem the most feasible at this stage, Iโd love to see the tram but youโre right it could be a long way away that ๐ณ
@ShaneKReynolds A brilliant idea Shane, I once suggested a basketball court on the EA site a few years back on @TalkingRedsPod. Aware the owners have an interest in the sport, would be great to have a Forest team ๐โน๏ธโโ๏ธโน๏ธ
@DuggTeebs Thanks Blake, itโs a shame some of the GCR alignments have been built on, but to be honest if some of the land could be bought back, we could have a really amazing tramway running into the heart of West Bridgford which would unleash huge economic potential
@Chardgrills@Battlemuch4WW Completely, and would help regenerate the Meadow Lane area including the cattle market. As long as our beloved Arthur Johnson and the traders can stay at ground floor level in any new development ๐
@Chardgrills@Battlemuch4WW Youโre right, having this legally secured through planning would help the development significantly. As you say the impact on the sites either side of the bridge is huge, they become invaluable regeneration sites and great for the football club ๐
@Packman212@OliverPridmore Trams could certainly take a while you are spot on, but hopefully phase 01 would tick a lot of boxes and the tram could eventually plug on at a later date ๐ค๐ผ๐
@Tnewton_1988@OliverPridmore I completely agree Thomas, I love the analogy about planting trees for whose shade youโll never sit under! At the very least phase 01 of this is feasible and would certainly unlock the planning conditions for the club. Fingers crossed it can be taken forward ๐๐
