It’s been over a week since 20+ members of the Vox Media Union were laid off, and we still haven’t heard from @bankoff.
We’ve collected questions from our members on the impact of these layoffs, and we want answers.
Our friends at @vox_union, @thedodounion, and @thrillistunion launched this GoFundMe campaign to support our talented colleagues who were laid off by Vox Media last week. Please share and donate if you can!

Today the New York Magazine Union was notified by management that some of our members were impacted by layoffs at Vox Media. We are in the process of working with those members to make sure the company’s contractual obligations are kept.
We were informed this morning that @voxmedia is laying off 7% of its staff, and several of our talented colleagues were affected. Since we were acquired by Vox last year, multiple layoffs have impacted the core identity of our brand w/ little info about how we will move forward
This morning we were informed that Vox is laying off 7% of its staff, and several of our unit members were impacted. This is the latest in a series of rounds of layoffs since we were acquired by Vox last year, and we continue to take issue with the way these layoffs are handled.
Solidarity with our colleagues affected by these layoffs. We are heartbroken to have lost such talented co-workers and livid at management’s continued refusal to treat employees with dignity and respect.
We were informed today that the company is laying off around 7 percent of its workforce, and some of our members have been impacted.
We're furious at the way the company has approached these layoffs, and are currently discussing how to best serve those who just lost their jobs.
🚨WE HAVE A DEAL!!!🚨 Late last night/early this morning, after bargaining all day, we reached a tentative agreement on our second CBA, subject to ratification. We’re SO thrilled with everything we won, and we can’t wait to share the amazing details of this deal.
This time next week, we’ll be striking if @voxmedia hasn’t shifted their positions on fair salary minimums, raises, a bonus for huge hikes in health insurance costs to us. Join us on the picket line next week outside of Vox HQ! 🪧🦤Sign up here:
