Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu and other well-wishers beyond Uganda.
I have seen the millions of messages congratulating me on my 82nd birthday, led by my nuclear family members—Maama, Muhoozi, Natasha, Patience, Kyaremeera and those of my wider family of the NRM, the other Ugandans, the East Africans and those beyond East Africa. Thank you so much.
My social-media handler, Precious Kamwiine, told me that there were 8 million such messages. I thank God for the 82 years. I thank God for the peace in Uganda and the progress—agriculture, oil, other minerals, factories, etc. The present unreliable rains are a reminder that we should not take nature for granted. Those in the wetlands or forests or other protected areas, must get out so that we keep the treasure God gave us.
You might blame National Theater for this ‘security’, but indeed people steal toilet paper from public toilets. Yes, they pocket the entire roll. That’s why, at some public toilets, there is an attendant who tears off a measured piece of toilet paper for every user. It speaks about how far cultures of theft have eaten into our society. If a people can steal toilet paper from public toilets, what will happen when they are entrusted with public funds!
It appears like now there is a thief waiting to steal from someone at every corner: on the streets (pickpockets), in churches (men of Gaad), in schools (ridiculous fees), on roads (traffic police), in revenue offices (taxmen), at gates (askaris), in shops (price discrimination), in government offices (bribes, stealing tax money), in gardens (coffee, matooke), in our businesses (njawulo), at construction sites (building materials, njawulo), our children (lies about school dues), in relationships (I need a favour), in elections (rigging), … Everyone everywhere has to guard against thieves and parasites! How do we change this!

Although AFCON rules state walking off or refusing to play for a prolonged period is grounds for elimination, the decision to strip Senegal of the AFCON title two months after their trophy lift is a bad look for CAF.
It should be within the power of the officials in real time to disqualify a team, but it's a hollow victory for Morocco to appeal and win in this manner, weeks after the trophy lift.
Morocco accepted Senegal's return from their 10-minute walk off, gladly resumed play and took their penalty.
Missing it, losing the game, then appealing to gain the trophy doesn't sit right, even if by the letter of the law there are grounds to do so.

UPDATE: Attempts to halt construction of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline have hit a permanent snag after the Appellate Division of the East African Court of Justice upheld an earlier ruling dismissing the petition for being filed out of time. The project now proceeds without legal obstruction. #NTVNews
UPDATE: The EACJ Appellate Division has dismissed the civil society appeal against @EACOP_ citing late filing beyond the 60-day limit. The ruling upholds the First Instance Division’s decision but directs each party to bear its own costs, given the public interest nature of the case.
