The player announcements keep going✨✨✨

We are excited to welcome back Mitchell O’Brien and Mario Kovacevic returning from Varsity FC this season- with unfinished business on their minds.

Both players had long and successful OUA careers, Kovacevic with the University of Toronto and O’Brien with Carleton. Mario scored 42 goals in 60 games for the Varsity Blues, culminating in representing Canada at the FISU Games in Kazan and being signed to the Toronto FC reserve/U23s where he played with MLS stalwarts Jonathan Osorio and Doneil Henry. He also played with Vaughn SC in League1 Ontario.

O’Brien played with Carleton Ravens where he finished second in the country as a lynchpin in midfield in 2021. He also won the NASL reserve division with Ottawa Fury. Though he made a name for himself in Ottawa, O’Brien is a native of Quebec where he represented their provincial team and finished second in League1 Quebec (PLSQ) with OSU Force. Both players bring real experience and quality to this group of young players and will play a mentorship role to our young indigenous and UBC based players.
