As of January 13, New York has submitted 27,000+ challenges to the @FCC National Broadband Map — challenges that will help paint an accurate picture of New Yorkers’ internet needs as federal partners work to get New York its fair share of federal funding.
@DustinFinn@1fairInternet Hello Dustin, if your house is located within 200 Feet from the OCG pole there is no installation fee. In the situation where there is no poles/pole is more than 200 feet the price for the installation starts from $200, depending on the difficulty of installation.
@NYSDOT This would make it much easier for companies building fiber, like: @OCG_Fiber@FlumeInternet or @pilotfiber.
Current system requires utility providers to pay expensive Right-of-Way fees to NYS DOT.
This bill, if passed, would eliminate the need for a survey to be submitted.
@PointTGC Good morning! Hope you enjoyed the extended weekend. It's a bit difficulty to get into Brookhaven/Suffolk right at this moment because of how backed up our permits get when we apply for them. If you sign up at https://t.co/bDMS3SKrIb, we'll give you notice when it's in your area.
@Js_3leighs@OptimumHelp Hey Juanita! If you're in the NYC/ Long Island area, and want to try a new provider, reach out to us at https://t.co/bDMS3SKrIb! We provide great speeds on our own Fiber Network!
@thefloyd@1fairInternet@news_shocking@ChrisKauter (2/2) faster service is available in those areas. As we have stated before, multi-gig options are not particularly for the average user, so we want to get them connected first before (or if), we start multi gig rollouts to whomever needs them.
@thefloyd@1fairInternet@news_shocking@ChrisKauter Hey, Patrick! OCG's priority is to build out to residential neighborhoods, and businesses, that need service now. We want to provide the highest quality internet, so it takes a bit of time as well as understanding that the more people in neighborhoods contacting us, the (1/2)

@AaronCrocco @1fairInternet Hey, Aaron! Thank you for reaching out. I see you're in our system, however, it is unfortunately a bit of a process to get permits to deploy Fiber in your area. As more permits are approved near your location, we will start engineering paths. Thanks for your patience.
@AKF052 @1fairInternet@ChrisKauter Hey @AKF052, if you'd like to get more information about our services, please reach out to us on https://t.co/bDMS3SKrIb. We provide information about our plans, and more. Also, you can contact us directly through Twitter if you have specific questions.
Whenever you see the manhole services in Manhattan, this may be below it! Lots of cables, and all from different companies. See the picture below for an example of work we did recently in a manhole in the city!
@tearfalls Not at this time, sorry about that though! If we do come out there, sign up at https://t.co/bDMS3SKrIb, and you'll be automatically informed when we do. Thanks for reaching out!
See below for some emergency repairs we have done this week.

Our Fiber cable was struck by a contractor in Long Island, and OCG's team was out there within less than a few hours. Thanks to our team at OCG, service was back up and at full capacity within the same day.
See below for pictures of our services being installed in Long Island. At OCG, we're always expanding our network to reach more people in more communities that need it!
@news_shocking@OCG_Fiber@ChrisKauter@OCG_Fiber can offer gigabit service, but 10G is frankly a marketing gimmick.
There is an EXTREMELY small subset of people that will ever come close to needing those speeds.
Unless you work in a datacenter serving thousands of users, most will never use more than 500mbps.
