Veteran news anchor Jon Snow has shared that he’s living with dementia, speaking publicly for the first time to raise awareness of a condition affecting around 1 million people across the UK.
Jon and his wife, neurologist Dr Precious Lunga, are supporting Alzheimer’s Society @alzheimerssoc and shared the story of Jon’s diagnosis in @DailyMail as part of our Defeating Dementia campaign with the newspaper.

We’ve partnered with Jon, in association with @Channel4, on a powerful new documentary airing on 20 June. Jon Snow: A Last Big Story looks at how he’s navigating life with dementia, and how, when we all come together, we can change the story.
Thank you to Jon and Precious for their courage and openness to bring much-needed attention to dementia 💙

I’d like to correct @DavidLammy on ‘weddings cost around £20k’. It’s actually £62 for a statutory ceremony at your local register office. One of life’s only remaining bargs!

- Tell him shut the fuck up and fuck his wife properly;
- Tell him, try it and see;
- Report the stupid tart to her job
That is my game plan in this scenario. They'll drop her all too quickly for this sort of thing, especially if she has her husband acting like this. It is an offence in itself...

@AssetJunkie@stackhodler tbh it looks like there is one but it looks shit (air bubbles)
I remember an old iPhone 15 flying out of my hands.
It looked absolutely shit and I was bricking it, thinking I totalled my workphone.
IT guy laughed and peeled off the screen protector. Spick and span. 😂
Life is for living (especially now) but given that the average life expectancy is increasing. Yeah I kind of want the money so that I can live life fully whilst I've got more of the time.
At 57:
- I still have a Railcard and will get an old person Oyster Card in a few years down the line from that;
- I'll hopefully have no rent or mortgage to pay by then. If so, the 25% lump sum sorts that out;
Quite frankly I'm glad it's locked away. It can't be touched.
People underestimate the SIPP (mostly going on about the fact that you can't touch it until 57).
I'm in my thirties now.
All I do is work, travel and pay bills.
I need (WANT) that money locked away for later.
