@MaceAhWindu I like how she was like this rival to Vader, doing things to gain the Emperor's appreciation, and one day replace Vader. It's completely something Palpatine has done before with Maul, and Dooku.

@CapitalCitySol She was also known equally had emperors hand as well. Majority of Mara’s arc is with Luke, the Jedi & republic. Which is where most of her phenomenal character arc (writing) occurred. Take that away or being emperors hand- might as well create a whole new character.

Just like being emperors hand was an integral part of her character arc, being Luke’s wife and all the development that came with it (and a child) is also just as important.

@_Psycho_Spartan Maul and Dooku weren’t hands or inquisitors. That’s the difference. Mail was taken in as a sith apprentice, Mara was not. If he would have made Mara an apprentice it would have happened from the beginning.

@_Psycho_Spartan Hands are very different & not trained in the dark side. I know she was raised by him. You are just speculating if she would take his place. One thing she didn’t like with Vader is he was Palpatine’s “lap dog”. So I’d say no, she wouldn’t based on that.
