Thank you @GaaClare for visiting us and bringing such joy to our patients and staff.
Congratulations to the BMBS class of 2024 who graduated from @MedicineAtUL today - we are so proud of you all and look forward to working with many of you in the future.
Fantastic start to our Paediatric Rheumatology study day @CERC_UHL@MedicineAtUL - Dr Kieran Murray, Consultant Adult Rheumatologist, sharing sobering statistics about teenage drinking behaviours
As usual, I got too caught up in the talks to tweet! Our next speaker was Dr Kathy Gallagher, Consultant Paediatric Rheumatologist in CHI Crumlin, taking us through JIA and MAS, and reminding us to always think of infection and malignancy before rheumatology!
Next up, rANP in Paediatric Rheumatology Karen Peate took us through medications for rheumatological conditions, along with the positive impacts, potential challenges, side effects and monitoring requirements of each
Emma Lunney, Senior Occupational Therapist in Paediatric Rheumatology at CHI Crumlin, taught us about interventions in symptomatic hypermobility, including what I’m coining as the “three Ss” - strengthening, swimming and cycling!
We finished up the day with a fantastic panel discussion, covering lots of attendee questions and highlighting some wonderful opportunities to collaborate more effectively in the care of our patients in future
Next up a tour de force all the way from Melbourne courtesy of @Bronwynpower1 on the fundamentals of paediatric rheumatological assessment and investigation @CERC_UHL@OGormanClodagh
Well done to our final year students @MedicineAtUL who are recovering this weekend after a busy two weeks of exams. Also míle buíochas to the incredible fifth class pupils from @CMoyross who helped us out with our paediatric OSCEs last week! Such a bright, enthusiastic bunch!
