@OHLSGradPrgmDir Apologies for the delay. For the duration of the extension, any support provided cannot overlap with any other COVID-19-related federally funded support program (ex. CERB). https://t.co/lL9BcgSfLh
Since the deregulation of law school tuition by @ONgov in the 90's, the cost of becoming a lawyer in Ontario has skyrocketed.
At the same time, @LawSocietyLSO doubled student fees to $4,700.
This impacts who can be a lawyer (wealth) and what services they can offer (high fees).
Seven funded LLM positions ($25K). Come join us as an LLM Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Law, Policy and Ethics. Starting Sept 2020 or Jan 2021. More info here https://t.co/K7VglwgLlK @OttawaHealthLaw

et tu, Chronicle of Higher Ed? suggesting that we're not normally working in the summer? sigh. We work in the summer. Some teach in the summer. Some write research do service and plan for the fall in the summer (I'm not saying it's not a privilege to have this kind of work)
Besides recuperating from an unprecedented semester, faculty members will have to spend time this summer thinking about what they’ll do differently should fall classes resume online. https://t.co/14fXqJGguJ
Q: SSHRC fellowship extensions: Anyone know whether the exclusion for folks taking CESB/CERB applies to 1) simultaneous receipt SSHRC extnsn & CESB/CERB (which i think would violate terms of CESB/CERB or 2) also to receipt of CESB/CERB in SU20 prior to SSHRC extnsn Fall20?
students holding SSHRC grants expiring between May and Sept will have seen this about the 4 mth extension available https://t.co/f8cDU2Ublb but...so frustrating
this took so long to come out. folks have applied for and received CESB or CERB depending on circumstances. The possibility was announced April 22. It was in the Treasury Board doc then. We basically had to give up on it in advising students because rent and food don't wait.
