So far Will Rogers World Airport OKC has measured 3.2 inches of snow. This is a new record for February 5th. The old record was 2.3 inches in 2002. More to come! #okwx
With the snow moving out, here are the estimated snowfall accumulation totals. Western Oklahoma largely missed out, with only trace amounts observed in most of the OKC metro. Amounts increased east of there with up to two inches in some locations. #okwx
Update 9:50pm- Several locations are seeing either light snow, light freezing rain, or a mix across the area tonight. But, locally heavy snowfall is occurring in the orange highlighted area. Snow intensity should decrease by midnight. #okwx
My red flag for this storm is the cold air will be going stale by the time the storm gets here. Storm will have to create it’s cold it, doesn’t always work out!
Another large potential winter storm to impact the main body of Oklahoma with snow and ice possible. Hopefully this one stays on track unlike the last. Key is talk about possibilities and what can go wrong with the forecast. More updates to come
